Let not the archer string his bow, nor let him put on his armor. Do not spare her young men; completely destroy her army.

要套好戰車，騎上戰馬，擦亮矛槍，頂盔貫甲。

弓箭手啊，你們要列陣圍攻巴比倫，向她猛射，不要吝嗇箭枝，因為她得罪了耶和華。

你們要去攻打米拉大翁和比割的居民，照我的命令徹底消滅他們。這是耶和華說的。

天上的星辰不再發光，太陽剛出來就變黑，月亮也暗淡無光。我必懲罰這罪惡的世界，懲治邪惡的世人，制止驕橫之人的狂妄，壓下殘暴之徒的驕傲。我必使人比精煉的金子還稀少，比俄斐的純金更罕見。我萬軍之耶和華發烈怒的日子，必震動諸天，搖撼大地。人們都投奔親族，逃回故鄉，好像被追趕的鹿，又如走散的羊。被捉住的人都會被刺死，被逮住的人都會喪身刀下。他們的嬰孩將被摔死在他們眼前，家園遭劫掠，妻子被蹂躪。看啊，我要驅使瑪代人來攻擊他們。瑪代人不在乎金子，也不看重銀子，他們必用弓箭射死青年，不憐憫嬰兒，也不顧惜孩童。

「要召集所有的弓箭手來攻打巴比倫，在她四圍紮營，不讓一人漏網。要照她的所作所為報應她；她怎樣對待別人，也要怎樣對待她，因為她藐視耶和華——以色列的聖者。她的青年要倒斃街頭，那時她所有的戰士都要滅亡」。這是耶和華說的。

因為死亡從窗戶爬進我們的城堡，吞滅街上的孩童和廣場上的青年。

你們要殺掉她所有的士兵，把他們全部屠殺。他們大禍臨頭了，懲罰他們的日子到了。

外有刀劍殺戮，內有恐懼籠罩，少男、少女、嬰兒、老人無一倖免。

因為不憐憫人的會受到無情的審判，但憐憫勝過審判。

看啊，大軍要從北方而來，一個強國及其盟軍要從地極而來。巴比倫人啊，他們殘忍無道，手持弓箭和矛槍，騎著戰馬，列陣攻擊你們，聲勢如翻騰的大海。

那抓住你的嬰孩摔在石頭上的人有福了！
