任爾曹在巴比倫城垣、樹幟嚴守、使人守望、設伏防備、主為巴比倫居民、所定者、所言者、今必成之、

Lift up a banner against the walls of Babylon! Reinforce the guard, station the watchmen, prepare an ambush! The Lord will carry out his purpose, his decree against the people of Babylon.

Lift up a banner! Attack Babylon’s walls! Put more guards on duty! Station more of them to watch over you! Hide and wait to attack them! I will do what I have planned. I will do what I have decided to do against the people of Babylon.

“ Set up a standard against the walls of Babylon; make the watch strong; set up watchmen; prepare the ambushes; for the Lord has both planned and done what he spoke concerning the inhabitants of Babylon.

Raise the battle flag against Babylon! Reinforce the guard and station the watchmen. Prepare an ambush, for the Lord will fulfill all his plans against Babylon.

你要在光禿的山上豎起旗幟，向眾人揚聲揮手，叫他們進入權貴的門。

大地震動翻騰，因為耶和華攻擊巴比倫所定的旨意立定不移，要使巴比倫的地荒涼，沒有人居住。

你們要磨尖箭頭，拿起盾牌（“拿起盾牌”《七十士譯本》譯作“裝滿箭袋”）；耶和華定意要毀滅巴比倫，所以激動瑪代諸王的心；這是耶和華的報復，就是為他的殿而施行的報復。

尼尼微啊！那分散邦國的必上來攻擊你，你要固守堡壘，嚴防要道，束緊你的腰，大大增強你的力量。（本節在《馬索拉抄本》為2:2）

“你們要在列國中傳揚和宣告，要豎起旗幟宣揚，不可隱瞞，說：‘巴比倫被攻取了！彼勒蒙羞，米羅達驚慌；巴比倫的神像都蒙羞，它的偶像都驚慌。’

任何智慧、聰明、謀略都不能敵擋耶和華。

“你們要在地上豎起旗幟，在列國中吹號角，使列國作好準備攻擊巴比倫，把亞拉臘、米尼、亞實基拿等國召來攻擊她，又指派元帥來攻擊她，使馬匹像蝗蟲洶湧上來。

你要打水，以備圍困，鞏固你的堡壘，踹泥踏土，緊握磚模。在那裡火要燒滅你，刀劍要除滅你，吞吃你，好像吞吃蚱蜢一樣，你只管增多如蚱蜢，加添像蝗蟲，

你們要在列國中宣告以下這話：“你們要預備爭戰，要激動勇士。讓所有的戰士都近前來，讓他們都上去攻擊。要把犁頭打成刀劍，把鐮刀打成矛槍；軟弱的要說：‘我是勇士。’四圍的列國啊！你們快來幫助，在那裡一同聚集。耶和華啊！求你叫你的勇士下來吧。“萬國都當奮起，上到約沙法谷去。因為我必坐在那裡，審判四圍的列國。你們要伸出鐮刀，因為莊稼已經熟了。來踐踏吧，因為壓酒池滿了，酒池盈溢，因為他們的罪惡極大。無數的人群齊集在判決谷，因為耶和華的日子臨近了判決谷。

耶和華作成了他定意去作的，成就了他的話，就是他昔日所宣告的，他把你拆毀，並不憐惜，他使仇敵因勝過你而高興，他高舉你敵人的角。

“要準備好大小的盾牌，踏上戰場。要裝備馬匹，騎上戰馬；站好崗位，戴上頭盔；磨快槍矛，穿上鐵甲。但為甚麼我看見他們驚惶，轉身退後呢？他們的勇士被擊敗了，他們急速奔逃，不敢回轉。四圍都是驚慌。”這是耶和華的宣告。

艾城的王看見了這情形，就和艾城的人急忙在清早起來，按著亞拉巴前面所約定之處出到亞拉巴，要與以色列人交戰；王卻不知道在城後面有伏兵要攻擊他。

列國之民啊！你們儘管作惡，但你們終必毀滅！所有在遠處的人民啊，要留心聽！你們儘管束腰吧，你們終必毀滅！你們儘管束腰吧，你們終必毀滅！你們儘管計劃陰謀吧，這些終必失敗；你們儘管提議吧，這些終必不能成立，因為神與我們同在。

我必招聚列國，領他們下到約沙法谷，為了我的子民，就是我的產業以色列，我要在那裡親臨審判他們，因為他們把我的子民分散在列國中，又分取了我的地土。
