因為聽見戰馬的蹄聲，還有戰車轔轔和車輪轆轆的響聲，作父親的雙手酸軟無力，不能照顧他們的兒女。

就是要興起迦勒底人，那殘忍兇暴的民；他們遍行全地，佔領別人的家園。他們恐怖可怕，自以為義，趾高氣揚。他們的馬比豹更快，比晚上的豺狼更猛。他們的騎兵奔馳，自遠而來；他們如鷹飛翔，迅速吞噬。

因此，地雖然震動，群山雖然崩塌入海洋的深處，我們也不害怕。雖然海浪翻騰澎湃，雖然山嶽因波濤洶湧搖動，我們也不害怕。（細拉）

列邦喧嚷，萬國動搖；神一發聲，地就融化。

將要被毀滅的（“將要被毀滅的”有古譯本作“毀滅者”）巴比倫城（“城”原文作“女子”）啊！照著你待我們的行為報復你的，那人有福了。抓住你的嬰孩摔在磐石上的，那人有福了。

因為他們曾流聖徒和先知的血，現在你給他們血喝，這是他們該受的。”

他們的箭銳利，所有的弓都上了弦；他們的馬蹄看來像火石，車輛似旋風。

耶和華這樣說：“看哪！有一個民族從北方之地而來，有一大國被激動從地極來到。他們緊握弓和槍，性情殘忍，毫無憐憫；他們的聲音像海洋怒吼；錫安的居民（“居民”原文作“女子”）哪！他們騎著戰馬，在戰場上如同一人，列陣攻擊你們。”

求你顧念所立的約，因為地上黑暗的地方充滿了強暴的居所。

因為對不行憐憫的人，審判他們的時候就沒有憐憫；憐憫勝過審判。

天上的眾軍，都騎著白馬，穿著潔白的細麻衣，跟隨著他。有一把利劍從他口中吐出來，他要用這劍擊打列國，他必用鐵杖治理他們；並且還要踹全能神烈怒的壓酒池。在他的衣服和大腿上，寫著“萬王之王，萬主之主”的名號。我又看見一位天使站在太陽中，向高空所有的飛鳥大聲呼喊說：“你們來吧！齊集起來赴神的大筵席！可以吃君王的肉、將領的肉、壯士的肉，馬和騎士的肉，以及自由的、作奴隸的、大的、小的，所有人的肉。”

就是那在忿怒中不住擊打眾民、在怒氣中管轄列國、毫無抑制地施行迫害的。

所有拉弓的啊！你們要在巴比倫四圍列陣；射箭攻擊它，不要吝嗇箭枝，因為它得罪了耶和華。
