巴比倫要像神所傾覆的所多瑪、蛾摩拉和鄰近的城鎮一樣，必無人住在那裏，也無人在其中寄居。這是耶和華說的。

主曰、昔所多瑪、俄摩拉、及其鄰邑、為我天主所傾覆、巴比倫亦必若是、無人居於彼、無人旅於彼、

As I overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah along with their neighboring towns,” declares the Lord,“ so no one will live there; no people will dwell in it.

I destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. I also destroyed the towns that were near them,” announces the Lord.“ Babylon will be just like them. No one will live there. No human beings will stay there.

As when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring cities, declares the Lord, so no man shall dwell there, and no son of man shall sojourn in her.

I will destroy it as I destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns,” says the Lord.“ No one will live there; no one will inhabit it.

Just as God demolished Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns— this is the LORD’s declaration— so no one will live there; no human being will stay in it even temporarily as a temporary resident.

當時，耶和華把硫磺與火，從天上耶和華那裏降與所多瑪和蛾摩拉，把那些城和全平原，城裏所有的居民和土地上生長的，都毀滅了。

耶和華說：它要像所多瑪、蛾摩拉和鄰近的城鎮一樣傾覆，必無人住在那裏，也無人在其中寄居。

既然神判決了所多瑪和蛾摩拉，將二城傾覆，焚燒成灰，作為後世不敬虔人的鑒戒，

同樣，所多瑪、蛾摩拉和周圍城鎮的人也跟着他們一樣犯淫亂，隨從逆性的情慾，以致遭受永不熄滅之火的懲罰，作為眾人的鑒戒。

同樣，就像在羅得的日子，人又吃又喝，又買又賣，又耕種又建造，到羅得離開所多瑪的那日，有火與硫磺從天上降下來，把他們全都滅了。人子顯現的日子也要這樣。

巴比倫為列國的榮耀，為迦勒底人所誇耀的華美，必像神所傾覆的所多瑪、蛾摩拉一樣；國中必永無人煙，世世代代無人居住；阿拉伯人不在那裏支搭帳棚，牧羊的人也不使羊羣躺臥在那裏。

萬軍之耶和華－以色列的神說：因此，我指着我的永生起誓：摩押必如所多瑪，亞捫人必像蛾摩拉，都變為刺草、鹽坑、永遠荒廢之地。我百姓中剩餘的必擄掠他們，我國中的倖存者必得他們的地。

遍地都被硫磺和鹽所侵蝕，不能耕種，沒有出產，連草都長不出來，好像耶和華在怒氣和憤怒中所傾覆的所多瑪、蛾摩拉、押瑪、洗扁一樣，

他們的屍首將倒在大城的街道上；這城按着靈意叫所多瑪，又叫埃及，就是他們的主釘十字架的地方。

以法蓮哪，我怎能捨棄你？以色列啊，我怎能棄絕你？我怎能使你如押瑪？怎能使你如洗扁？我回心轉意，我的憐憫燃了起來。我必不發猛烈的怒氣，也不再毀滅以法蓮。因我是神，並非世人，是你們中間的聖者；我必不在怒中臨到你們。

所以在一天之內，她的災殃要一齊來到，就是死亡、悲哀、饑荒。她將被火燒盡，因為審判她的主神大有能力。」地上的君王，與她行淫、一同奢華的，看見燒她的煙，就必為她哭泣哀號；

若不是萬軍之耶和華為我們留下一些倖存者，我們早已變成所多瑪，像蛾摩拉一樣了。

人必不從你那裏取石頭為房角石，也不取石頭來作根基，因為你必永遠荒廢。這是耶和華說的。

「我傾覆你們，如同神從前傾覆所多瑪、蛾摩拉一樣；你們好像從火中搶救出來的一根柴，你們仍不歸向我。」這是耶和華說的。
