願他們口中充滿對神的頌揚；願他們手中有雙刃的刀劍——為要向列國施行報復，責罰萬族；為要用鎖鏈捆住他們的君王，用鐵鐐捆住他們的權貴；為要向他們施行所記錄的裁決；這威榮屬於他所有的忠信者。哈利路亞！

於是人把聖殿——耶路撒冷神的殿中所取走的金器皿帶來，王和他的大臣們、妻子們、妃嬪們就用這些來喝酒。他們一邊喝酒，一邊稱讚那些用金、銀、銅、鐵、木、石所做的神明。那時，忽然有人的手指頭出現，在燈臺對面王宮的粉牆上寫字。王看到那正在寫字的手，

「看哪，我必使耶路撒冷成為一只酒杯，讓四圍所有的民族都醉得搖搖晃晃！耶路撒冷被圍困的時候，猶大也將被圍困。到那日，我必使耶路撒冷成為萬民的一塊沉重石頭，凡背負它的都必受重傷；地上萬國都將聚集起來攻擊它。」
