“ Attack the land of Merathaim and those who live in Pekod. Pursue, kill and completely destroy them,” declares the Lord.“ Do everything I have commanded you.

“ Enemies of Babylon, attack their land of Merathaim. Make war against those who live in Pekod. Chase them and kill them. Destroy them completely,” announces the Lord.“ Do everything I have commanded you to do.

“ Go up, my warriors, against the land of Merathaim and against the people of Pekod. Pursue, kill, and completely destroy them, as I have commanded you,” says the Lord.

Attack the land of Merathaim, and those living in Pekod. Put them to the sword; completely destroy them— this is the LORD’s declaration— do everything I have commanded you.

“ Against the land of Merathaim, go up against it, And against the inhabitants of Pekod. Kill and completely destroy them,” declares the Lord,“ And do according to everything that I have commanded you.

“ Go against the land of Merathaim, and against those living in Pekod. Put them to the sword; completely destroy them— this is the Lord’s declaration— do everything I have commanded you.

The LORD says,“ Attack the land of Merathaim and the people who live in Pekod! Pursue, kill, and completely destroy them! Do just as I have commanded you!

“ Go up against the land of Merathaim, even against it, and against the inhabitants of Pekod. Kill and utterly destroy after them,” says Yahweh,“ and do according to all that I have commanded you.

the Babylonians and all the Chaldeans, Pekod and Shoa and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them, desirable young men, governors and commanders all of them, officers and men of renown, all of them riding on horses.

Now go and strike Amalek and devote to destruction all that they have. Do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.’”

“ For out of the north a nation has come up against her, which shall make her land a desolation, and none shall dwell in it; both man and beast shall flee away.

For behold, I am stirring up and bringing against Babylon a gathering of great nations, from the north country. And they shall array themselves against her. From there she shall be taken. Their arrows are like a skilled warrior who does not return empty-handed.

Behold, I will command, declares the Lord, and will bring them back to this city. And they will fight against it and take it and burn it with fire. I will make the cities of Judah a desolation without inhabitant.”

who says of Cyrus,‘ He is my shepherd, and he shall fulfill all my purpose’; saying of Jerusalem,‘ She shall be built,’ and of the temple,‘ Your foundation shall be laid.’”

The Lord anointed you king over Israel.And the Lord sent you on a mission and said,‘ Go, devote to destruction the sinners, the Amalekites, and fight against them until they are consumed.’Why then did you not obey the voice of the Lord? Why did you pounce on the spoil and do what was evil in the sight of the Lord?”And Saul said to Samuel,“ I have obeyed the voice of the Lord. I have gone on the mission on which the Lord sent me. I have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and I have devoted the Amalekites to destruction.But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the best of the things devoted to destruction, to sacrifice to the Lord your God in Gilgal.”And Samuel said,“ Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and presumption is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has also rejected you from being king.”Saul said to Samuel,“ I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice.

“ Assemble, all of you, and listen! Who among them has declared these things? The Lord loves him; he shall perform his purpose on Babylon, and his arm shall be against the Chaldeans.

Against a godless nation I send him, and against the people of my wrath I command him, to take spoil and seize plunder, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.

“ Thus says Cyrus king of Persia,‘ The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and he has charged me to build him a house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Whoever is among you of all his people, may the Lord his God be with him. Let him go up.’”

“ Cursed is he who does the work of the Lord with slackness, and cursed is he who keeps back his sword from bloodshed.

Moreover, is it without the Lord that I have come up against this place to destroy it? The Lord said to me,“ Go up against this land and destroy it.”’”

And Moses was angry with the officers of the army, the commanders of thousands and the commanders of hundreds, who had come from service in the war.Moses said to them,“ Have you let all the women live?Behold, these, on Balaam’s advice, caused the people of Israel to act treacherously against the Lord in the incident of Peor, and so the plague came among the congregation of the Lord.Now therefore, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man by lying with him.But all the young girls who have not known man by lying with him keep alive for yourselves.
