萬有之主、以色列族之上帝耶和華曰、昔我罰亞述王、後必罰巴比倫王、及其土地、亦若是。

故萬有之主以色列之天主如是云、我必罰巴比倫王與其地、如昔我罰亞述王、

Therefore this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says:“ I will punish the king of Babylon and his land as I punished the king of Assyria.

The Lord who rules over all is the God of Israel. He says,“ I punished the king of Assyria. In the same way, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land.

Therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I am bringing punishment on the king of Babylon and his land, as I punished the king of Assyria.

Therefore, this is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says:“ Now I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, just as I punished the king of Assyria.

主曰、我降災於郇山、及耶路撒冷、既畢其事、我必伐亞述王、汰其驕心、去其抑視。

試觀亞述王、若利巴嫩之柏香木、其枝葱蒨、其幹扶疏、其杪高不可及、四面環溪、灌溉有資、故柯幹甚巨、高大無比、林叢諸木、無不得水之利、既蒙灌溉、超於群木、枝繁葉茂、長柯森發、飛鳥結巢於其枝、走獸生產於其蔭、大國之民、居於下、亦受其庇。根在水濱、故枝葉葱蒨、長柯森發、上帝囿之柏香木、不能出其上、松樹不及其長條、楓樹不及其弱幹、上帝囿中、眾木雖美、不得與之頡頏、枝葉向榮、葱蒨可悅、我使之然、上帝囿中諸木、亦嫉其高、耶和華曰、彼譬喬木、其葉蓁蓁、心志驕泰、故我委於異邦之強暴、俾治其罪、我亦加以驅逐、異邦之強暴、斫以斧斤、散枝於山谷、折幹於溪濱、天下居民、失庇蔭而他往、飛鳥棲於幹上、走獸伏於枝中、使天下林木、植於水旁、勿誇其株高幹偉、枝葉蓁蓁、喬木森然、終必枯萎、偃於下土、與人之歸墓無異、主耶和華曰、我使柏香木枯萎、是日也、深淵源泉、為之立涸、以示悲哀、利巴嫩之木枯槁、以發憂恨。我斫柏香木使下幽冥之所、與歸墓者無異、列邦人民、聞其下墜之聲、靡不震動、埃田林木、與利巴嫩之佳樹、素得灌溉、後至枯槁、見其隕落、則怨心悉平、昔此林叢、受其庇蔭、乃遭摧折、彼異邦人得王庇護、忽被斬伐、下於幽冥之所、亦若是、

舉手擊其北方、剿滅亞述、使尼尼微荒蕪、變為曠野、群畜與四方之獸、必卧於其邑、鵜鶘毛蝟、必棲於柱頂、牖間聞鳥聲、門闕成坵墟、柏香木板俱已剝落、此乃淫佚之邑、僭稱主母、自謂莫之與京、今變荒蕪、獸伏其間、凡過之者、必作怨憤之聲、搖首不已。

謁葛人拿翁以尼尼微之事、得之默示者、筆之於書、曰、耶和華乃上帝、有不敬者、斷不容之、不敬之人、耶和華必以為敵、憤怒奮發、加以重罰、屢怒不已。耶和華能力甚大、雖不遽怒、然恆於惡者、不蒙赦宥、耶和華涖臨、若颶風狂飆之驟起、視雲若足下之塵、

是夕耶和華之使者、出在亞述營、擊其士卒十八萬五千、詰朝、惟見尸骸而已。亞述王西拿基立遂撒其營、歸尼尼微、值崇拜於其上帝溺落之殿、其子亞得米勒、沙哩斯弒之、遁於亞喇臘國、更有一子。以撒哈頓繼位。
