巴比倫人啊，他們殘忍無道，手持弓箭和矛槍，騎著戰馬，列陣攻擊你們，聲勢如翻騰的大海。

大衛清早起來把羊交給一個牧人看顧，然後照父親的吩咐帶著食物出發了。他來到軍營的時候，大軍正吶喊著出戰。

搶奪我產業的巴比倫人啊，你們歡喜快樂，像草場上歡跳的母牛犢，又像嘶鳴的公馬。

「因為巴比倫人毀滅了耶和華的殿，耶和華要使瑪代諸王毀滅他們。瑪代人啊，要磨尖箭頭，拿起盾牌，豎起旗幟，攻打巴比倫的城牆；要加強防衛，派人巡邏，設下埋伏。因為耶和華言出必行，一定要懲罰巴比倫人。

毀滅巴比倫人的日子一到，我要差遣外族人從四面八方攻擊、消滅他們，如同狂風捲走碎稭。

萬軍之耶和華說：「看啊，我要摧毀以攔的弓箭手——他們的精銳之師。

「要在大地上豎起旌旗，在列國吹響號角，讓他們預備攻打巴比倫。要召集亞拉臘人、米尼人、亞實基拿人，使他們派遣將領率騎兵如蝗蟲一樣鋪天蓋地而來，攻打巴比倫。

在她額上還寫了一個神秘的名號：「大巴比倫——地上淫婦及可憎事物之母」。

戰馬奔馳吧！戰車疾駛吧！勇士啊，就是那些手拿盾牌的古實人和弗人以及箭法嫺熟的呂底亞人啊，出戰吧！

看啊，我要驅使瑪代人來攻擊他們。瑪代人不在乎金子，也不看重銀子，他們必用弓箭射死青年，不憐憫嬰兒，也不顧惜孩童。

約押見自己前後受敵，就從以色列軍中挑選一些精兵迎戰亞蘭人，

他們的利箭上弦，引弓待發；他們的馬蹄堅如岩石，車輪快如旋風。

聽啊，山上人聲鼎沸，像是大軍的聲音。那是列邦列國聚集呐喊的聲音。萬軍之耶和華正在召集軍隊，準備作戰。
