爾母必蒙羞、生爾者必抱愧、為列國之末、亦為曠野、燥土沙漠、

今巴比倫抱愧、大邑含羞、其地終為邱墟、有若沙漠。

爾母恥甚、生爾者含羞、列國結局、終必荒蕪、為旱乾之地、成為沙漠、

your mother will be greatly ashamed; she who gave you birth will be disgraced. She will be the least of the nations— a wilderness, a dry land, a desert.

Because of that, you will bring great shame on your land. Your whole nation will be dishonored. It will become the least important of the nations. It will become a dry and empty desert.

在她额上写着奥秘的名字，说：“大巴比伦，世上的淫妇和一切可憎之物的母。”

行毁灭的山，看哪，我与你为敌，你毁灭全地，我必伸手攻击你，将你从山岩滚下去，使你成为烧毁了的山。这是耶和华说的。人必不从你那里取石头为房角石，也不取石头来作根基，因为你必永远荒废。这是耶和华说的。

北方远近的诸王，以及天下、地面上的万国也一个一个都喝了，以后示沙克王也要喝。

说：‘耶和华啊，你曾论到这地方说：要剪除它，不再有人与牲畜居住此地，必永远荒凉。’你读完这书卷，就要把一块石头拴在其上，投入幼发拉底河中，说：‘巴比伦因耶和华所要降与它的灾祸，必如此沉下去，不再浮起来，百姓也必困乏。’”耶利米的话到此为止。

国中必永无人烟，世世代代无人居住；阿拉伯人不在那里支搭帐棚，牧羊的人也不使羊群躺卧在那里。旷野的走兽躺卧在那里，咆哮的动物挤满栖身之所；鸵鸟住在那里，山羊鬼魔也在那里跳舞。土狼必在它的宫殿呼号，野狗在华美的殿里吼叫。巴比伦的时辰临近了，它的日子必不长久。

看哪，迦勒底人之地，这国民如今已不复存在。亚述人使它成为住旷野者的居所。他们建筑自己的瞭望楼，拆毁它的宫殿，使它成为荒凉。

万军之耶和华说：“我必起来攻击他们，将巴比伦的名号和剩余的人，连子带孙一并剪除；这是耶和华说的。

七十年满了以后，我必惩罚巴比伦王和那国，并迦勒底人之地，因他们的罪孽使那地永远荒凉。这是耶和华说的。

看哪，日子将到，我必使人听见打仗的喊声，攻击亚扪人所住的拉巴的喊声。拉巴要成为废墟，属它的乡镇要被火焚烧。这是耶和华说的。先前承受以色列为业的，此时以色列倒要承受他们为业。这是耶和华说的。

有刀剑临到迦勒底人和巴比伦的居民，临到它的领袖与智慧人。这是耶和华说的。有刀剑临到矜夸的人，他们就变为愚昧；有刀剑临到它的勇士，他们就惊惶。有刀剑临到它的马匹、战车，和其中混居的各族，他们变成与妇女一样；有刀剑临到它的宝物，宝物就被抢夺。有干旱临到它的众水，它们就必干涸；因为这是雕刻偶像之地，人因偶像颠狂。所以野兽和土狼必住在那里，鸵鸟也住在其中，永远无人居住，世世代代无人定居。巴比伦要像上帝所倾覆的所多玛、蛾摩拉和邻近的城镇一样，必无人住在那里，也无人在其中寄居。这是耶和华说的。
