Why should I forgive you? Your children have abandoned Me and sworn by those who are not gods. I satisfied their needs, yet they committed adultery; they gashed themselves at the prostitute’s house.

耶和华说：“耶路撒冷啊，我怎能赦免你呢？你的儿女背弃我，凭假神起誓。我供应他们的一切需要，他们却纵情淫乱，涌向娼妓的家。

“为什么我要赦免你？你的儿女离弃我，指着那些不是神的起誓。我使他们饱足，他们却去行淫，一起挤在妓院里。

我怎能赦免你呢？你的兒女離棄我，又指着那不是神的起誓。我使他們飽足，他們就行姦淫，成羣地聚集在娼妓家裏。

“為甚麼我要赦免你？你的兒女離棄我，指著那些不是神的起誓。我使他們飽足，他們卻去行淫，一起擠在妓院裡。

『我怎能赦免你呢？你的兒女離棄了我，指着那不是神的來起誓。我使他們飽足，他們竟行姦淫，羣集在妓女家裏。

我何能宥爾哉、爾之子女棄我、指彼非神者而誓、我使之飽食、彼則行淫、羣集妓室、

耶和華曰、爾之赤子、我使之果腹、尚有背予者、指他上帝而發誓、集於娼妓之室、狥欲而行、我見此、豈能宥爾。

我豈能宥爾、爾子棄我、指虛神而誓、我雖使之發誓行正、我雖使之發誓行正或作我雖使之果腹彼仍行淫、群集於妓室、

“ Why should I forgive you? Your children have forsaken me and sworn by gods that are not gods. I supplied all their needs, yet they committed adultery and thronged to the houses of prostitutes.

The Lord says,“ Jerusalem, why should I forgive you? Your people have deserted me. They have made their promises in the names of gods that are not really gods at all. I supplied everything they needed. But they committed adultery. Large crowds went to the houses of prostitutes.

“ How can I pardon you? Your children have forsaken me and have sworn by those who are no gods. When I fed them to the full, they committed adultery and trooped to the houses of whores.

“ How can I pardon you? For even your children have turned from me. They have sworn by gods that are not gods at all! I fed my people until they were full. But they thanked me by committing adultery and lining up at the brothels.

How can I pardon thee? thy children have forsaken me, and sworn by them that are no gods. When I had fed them to the full, they committed adultery, and assembled themselves in troops at the harlots’ houses;

How shall I pardon thee for this? thy children have forsaken me, and sworn by[ them that are] no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots’ houses.

The LORD asked,“ How can I leave you unpunished, Jerusalem? Your people have rejected me and have worshiped gods that are not gods at all. Even though I supplied all their needs, they were like an unfaithful wife to me. They went flocking to the houses of prostitutes.

“ How can I pardon you? Your children have forsaken me, and sworn by what are no gods. When I had fed them to the full, they committed adultery, and assembled themselves in troops at the prostitutes’ houses.

and so that you do not associate with these nations remaining among you. Do not call on the names of their gods or make an oath to them; do not worship them or bow down to them.

They have provoked My jealousy with their so-called gods; they have enraged Me with their worthless idols. So I will provoke their jealousy with an inferior people; I will enrage them with a foolish nation.

But in the past, when you didn’t know God, you were enslaved to things that by nature are not gods.

those who bow in worship on the rooftops to the heavenly host; those who bow and pledge loyalty to the Lord but also pledge loyalty to Milcom;

Has a nation ever exchanged its gods?( But they were not gods!) Yet My people have exchanged their Glory for useless idols.

Then Jeshurun became fat and rebelled— you became fat, bloated, and gorged. He abandoned the God who made him and scorned the Rock of his salvation.

For the land is full of adulterers; the land mourns because of the curse, and the grazing lands in the wilderness have dried up. Their way of life has become evil, and their power is not rightly used

Adulteresses! Don’t you know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? So whoever wants to be the world’s friend becomes God’s enemy.

About eating food offered to idols, then, we know that“ an idol is nothing in the world,” and that“ there is no God but one.”

If they will diligently learn the ways of My people— to swear by My name,‘ As Yahweh lives,’ just as they taught My people to swear by Baal— they will be built up among My people.

They sacrifice on the mountaintops, and they burn offerings on the hills, and under oaks, poplars, and terebinths, because their shade is pleasant. And so your daughters act promiscuously and your daughters-in-law commit adultery.I will not punish your daughters when they act promiscuously or your daughters-in-law when they commit adultery, for the men themselves go off with prostitutes and make sacrifices with cult prostitutes. People without discernment are doomed.Israel, if you act promiscuously, don’t let Judah become guilty! Do not go to Gilgal or make a pilgrimage to Beth-aven, and do not swear an oath: As the Lord lives!

“ Jerusalem, Jerusalem! She who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her. How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, yet you were not willing!See, your house is left to you desolate.

How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I surrender you, Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I treat you like Zeboiim? I have had a change of heart; My compassion is stirred!

Come now, you rich people! Weep and wail over the miseries that are coming on you.Your wealth is ruined and your clothes are moth-eaten.Your silver and gold are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You stored up treasure in the last days!Look! The pay that you withheld from the workers who reaped your fields cries out, and the outcry of the harvesters has reached the ears of the Lord of Hosts.You have lived luxuriously on the land and have indulged yourselves. You have fattened your hearts for the day of slaughter.

All of them commit adultery; they are like an oven heated by a baker who stops stirring the fire from the kneading of the dough until it is leavened.

Those who swear by the guilt of Samaria and say,“ As your god lives, Dan,” or“ As the way of Beer-sheba lives”— they will fall, never to rise again.

When you see a thief, you make friends with him, and you associate with adulterers.

One man within you commits a detestable act with his neighbor’s wife; another wickedly defiles his daughter-in-law; and yet another violates his sister, his father’s daughter.

If a man commits adultery with a married woman— if he commits adultery with his neighbor’s wife— both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death.

Evil generation, pay attention to the word of the Lord! Have I been a wilderness to Israel or a land of dense darkness? Why do My people claim,“ We will go where we want; we will no longer come to You”?

Based on what happens to them, all the exiles of Judah who are in Babylon will create a curse that says,‘ May the Lord make you like Zedekiah and Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire!’because they have committed an outrage in Israel by committing adultery with their neighbors’ wives and have spoken a lie in My name, which I did not command them. I am He who knows, and I am a witness.” This is the Lord’s declaration.

While Israel was staying in the Acacia Grove, the people began to have sexual relations with the women of Moab.The women invited them to the sacrifices for their gods, and the people ate and bowed in worship to their gods.So Israel aligned itself with Baal of Peor, and the Lord’s anger burned against Israel.

Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be deceived: No sexually immoral people, idolaters, adulterers, or anyone practicing homosexuality,

If only I had a traveler’s lodging place in the wilderness, I would abandon my people and depart from them, for they are all adulterers, a solemn assembly of treacherous people.

When they had pasture, they became satisfied; they were satisfied, and their hearts became proud. Therefore they forgot Me.

Your adulteries and your lustful neighing, your heinous prostitution on the hills, in the fields— I have seen your detestable acts. Woe to you, Jerusalem! You are unclean— for how long yet?

I thought: How I long to make you My sons and give you a desirable land, the most beautiful inheritance of all the nations. I thought: You will call Me, my Father, and never turn away from Me.

Cursing, lying, murder, stealing, and adultery are rampant; one act of bloodshed follows another.

Now this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, plenty of food, and comfortable security, but didn’t support the poor and needy.They were haughty and did detestable things before Me, so I removed them when I saw this.

“ I will come to you in judgment, and I will be ready to witness against sorcerers and adulterers; against those who swear falsely; against those who oppress the widow and the fatherless, and cheat the wage earner; and against those who deny justice to the foreigner. They do not fear Me,” says the Lord of Hosts.

Marriage must be respected by all, and the marriage bed kept undefiled, because God will judge immoral people and adulterers.
