Therefore a lion from the forest will attack them, a wolf from the desert will ravage them, a leopard will lie in wait near their towns to tear to pieces any who venture out, for their rebellion is great and their backslidings many.

Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, a wolf of the evenings shall destroy them, a leopard shall watch against their cities; every one that goeth out thence shall be torn in pieces; because their transgressions are many, and their backslidings are increased.

So like a lion from the thicket their enemies will kill them. Like a wolf from the desert they will destroy them. Like a leopard they will lie in wait outside their cities and totally destroy anyone who ventures out. For they have rebelled so much and done so many unfaithful things.

其中之牧伯乃吼獅、其士師為暮出之狼、無所遺於詰旦、

今爾繼祖、增益罪人之數、使耶和華怒以色列族愈甚、

稚獅向之而咆哮、大發厥聲、荒蕪其地、焚燬其邑、俾無居民、

所見之獸似豹、足如熊、口如獅、龍以其能其座與大權予之、

爾以此言示民、彼必謂爾曰、耶和華曷言降此巨災於我儕、我有何愆尤、干何罪戾於我上帝耶和華、爾則告之曰、耶和華云、爾祖棄我、而從他神、服事崇拜、且背我、不守我法律、爾曹行惡甚於爾祖、各徇惡心之剛愎而行、不聽從我、

敵必若獅、自約但之叢林而出、攻其恆茂之草場、我必令其突然逃避、且立所選者治之、誰與我比擬、誰與我爭辯、牧者伊誰、立於我前、

爾之情人俱忘爾、而不訪問爾、緣爾愆尤重大、罪惡增多、故我以敵人所加之傷傷爾、以暴者所加之懲懲爾、

祭司以斯拉起而謂之曰、爾曹干咎、娶異族之女為妻、增以色列族之罪、

爾望耶和華之日者禍哉、奚望耶和華之日、其日乃暗而非光也、如人避獅而遇熊、入室捫壁、被齧於蛇、

造暗為夜、林間百獸潛出兮、

耶和華之志未成、其意未遂、則其烈怒不息、日後爾必悉之、

我將於以法蓮如獅、於猶大家如稚獅、攫裂之而去、奪取之而往、無能救援、

耶和華歟、我之愆尤雖證我惡、願爾緣爾名而施行、我屢悖逆、干罪於爾、

其敵為首、其仇利達兮、因其多罪、耶和華困苦之兮、彼之幼稚、見虜於敵兮、

爾之罪惡必自懲、爾之悖逆必自責、可知離棄爾上帝耶和華、不存寅畏之心、乃惡而且苦之事、萬軍之主耶和華言之矣、

其一若獅、有鷹之翼、我視之、見其翼被拔、厥獸被舉而起、立以二足如人、且得畀以人心、

爾在各街建爾高臺、俾爾豔麗為可惡、接彼行人、益爾淫亂、

維彼若獅、既出其所、因暴烈之力、及酷烈之怒、其地成為怪異、
