先知傳虛偽、祭司藉以操權、我民咸以為悅、至終爾將若之何、

先知傳虛詞、祭司隨聲附和、國民以此為悅、將若之何。

先知傳虛言、祭司賴之掌權、我民以此為悅、及至其終、主降罰之時、爾將何為、

「所定的罪是這樣的：光來到了世界，人們卻因自己的行為邪惡，不喜愛光，反喜愛黑暗。事實上，所有作惡的人，都憎恨光，不來到光那裡，免得自己的行為被揭露出來；但行真理的人，卻來到光那裡，為了顯明自己所做的是在神裡面被做成的。」

這不法之人的到來，是出於撒旦的作為，對那些正在滅亡的人，使用一切能力、虛假的神蹟和奇事，並且使用一切不義的詭計，因為他們不接受那能使他們得救的真理之愛。為此，神就把一種迷惑人的力量送進他們裡面，使他們相信虛假之事，

不過，在子民當中也出現過假先知；照樣，在你們當中也會有假教師。他們會偷偷引進使人滅亡的異端，甚至否認那救贖他們的主，給自己招來快速的滅亡。許多人會隨從他們好色的事；真理之道也會因他們的緣故，受到褻瀆。

因為這樣的人是假使徒，是詭詐的工人，他們裝做基督的使徒。這並不足為奇，原來撒旦自己也裝做光明的天使；所以，即使他的僕人把自己裝做義的僕人，也不足為怪；他們的結局必然照著他們的行為。

但到了懲罰的日子，當毀滅從遠方臨到時，你們要怎麼辦呢？你們要逃到誰那裡求幫助呢？你們要把自己的財富留在哪裡呢？

因為時候將到，人們容忍不了健全的教義，反要順著自己的欲望，為自己的耳朵能被呵癢得舒服，去召聚許多教師。他們將掩耳不聽真理，卻轉向編造的故事。

到那日，沿海的居民必說：『看哪！我們向來所仰望的，就是我們為了從亞述王手中得解救而逃往求助的，尚且如此，我們又怎能逃脫呢？』」

罪人在錫安懼怕，不敬虔的人被戰兢抓住，說：「我們中間誰能與吞噬之火同住？我們中間誰能與不滅之焰共居？」

「你們要提防假先知。他們披著羊皮來到你們這裡，裡面卻是凶殘的狼。憑著他們的果子，你們就能認出他們來。難道從荊棘上能收葡萄，從蒺藜中能收無花果嗎？同樣，好樹都結好果子，壞樹就結壞果子；

他們對先見說：「不要看異象了！」對先知說：「不要向我們預言真確的事，要向我們說柔滑的話，預言虛幻的事！你們要離開這道，轉離這路，不要在我們面前再提以色列的聖者了！」
