LORD, I know you look for faithfulness. But even when you punish these people, they feel no remorse. Even when you nearly destroy them, they refuse to be corrected. They have become as hardheaded as a rock. They refuse to change their ways.

O Yahweh, don’t your eyes look on truth? You have stricken them, but they were not grieved. You have consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction. They have made their faces harder than a rock. They have refused to return.

然而，這百姓既不轉向擊打他們的那一位，也不尋求萬軍之耶和華。

耶和華在他聖潔的殿中，耶和華在天上的寶座上，他的眼睛觀看，他的眼目察驗世人。耶和華察驗義人；他的心卻憎恨惡人和喜愛殘暴的人。他必向惡人密布網羅，火、硫磺、灼熱的風是他們杯中的份。因為耶和華是公義的，他愛公義；正直的人必見他的榮面。

然而，他們不肯留心聽，竟扭轉頑梗的肩頭，充耳不聞；他們使自己的心硬如金剛石，不聽從律法，不聽從萬軍之耶和華藉著他的靈和先前的眾先知所發出的話語。因此，有極大的震怒從萬軍之耶和華而來。

難道你輕視神豐富的仁慈、寬容、耐心，不明白他的仁慈是引領你來悔改的嗎？可是你照著頑固和不悔改的心，為那震怒的日子，就是神公義審判顯現的日子，給自己積蓄了震怒。

邪惡的人，虛張聲勢；正直的人，謹慎行事。

我知道你是頑梗的，你的頸項是鐵的，你的額頭是銅的，

就算用杵將愚妄人與麥子一同搗碎在石臼中，他的愚妄還是不會離開他。

你們為什麼不斷反叛，要一再受擊打呢？你們已經滿頭傷病，整個心都虛脫了。從腳掌到頭頂，體無完膚，都是創傷、鞭傷和血糊糊的傷口——沒有清理，沒有包紮，也沒有用油滋潤。

再者，我們有肉身的父親來管教我們，我們尚且敬重他們，何況對這位萬靈之父，我們難道不更要服從他而活著嗎？

況且我們知道，對做這樣事的人，神是按照真理來審判他們的。

「他們打我，我不疼痛；他們擊打我，我也不知道。我什麼時候醒來呢？我還要繼續尋找酒。」

所以他把猛烈的怒火和慘烈的戰火都傾瀉在以色列身上；火就在他們四圍燒起，他們卻不明白，火燒著了他們，他們也不放在心上。

耶和華的眼目守護知識，他卻推翻背信者的話。

看哪，你喜悅內心深處的誠實，你使我在內心的隱祕處明白智慧！
