“ Among my people are the wicked who lie in wait like men who snare birds and like those who set traps to catch people.

“ Jeremiah, some of my people are evil. They hide and wait just as people hide to catch birds. They set traps for people.

For wicked men are found among my people; they lurk like fowlers lying in wait. They set a trap; they catch men.

“ Among my people are wicked men who lie in wait for victims like a hunter hiding in a blind. They continually set traps to catch people.

Let a cry be heard from their houses, when thou shalt bring a troop suddenly upon them: for they have digged a pit to take me, and hid snares for my feet.

Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.

And makest men as the fishes of the sea, as the creeping things,[ that have] no ruler over them?They take up all of them with the angle, they catch them in their net, and gather them in their drag: therefore they rejoice and are glad.

Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.And they lay wait for their[ own] blood; they lurk privily for their[ own] lives.

For my people[ is] foolish, they have not known me; they[ are] sottish children, and they have none understanding: they[ are] wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

And so[ was] also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.

And Saul sought to smite David even to the wall with the javelin; but he slipped away out of Saul’s presence, and he smote the javelin into the wall: and David fled, and escaped that night.Saul also sent messengers unto David’s house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning: and Michal David’s wife told him, saying, If thou save not thy life to night, tomorrow thou shalt be slain.
