Hear this, you foolish and senseless people. They have eyes, but they don’t see. They have ears, but they don’t hear.

“愚昧无知的百姓啊，你们有眼不看，有耳不听，现在当听这话。

‘听着，你们这群愚昧无知的人啊，你们视而不见，听而不闻。

“愚昧无知的民哪！你们有眼不能看，有耳不能听；你们应当听这话：

『聽著，你們這群愚昧無知的人啊，你們視而不見，聽而不聞。

“愚昧無知的民哪！你們有眼不能看，有耳不能聽；你們應當聽這話：

『愚昧而無心思的人民哪，有眼不能看、有耳不能聽的啊，你們要聽這話。

愚昧無知之民歟、有目而不見、有耳而不聞、爾其聽此、

曰不智之徒、無慧者流、有目而不見、有耳而不聞、宜聽斯言。

爾此愚昧無知之民、有目而不見、有耳而不聞、宜聽斯言、

Hear this, you foolish and senseless people, who have eyes but do not see, who have ears but do not hear:

For this reason I speak to them in parables, because looking they do not see, and hearing they do not listen or understand.Isaiah’s prophecy is fulfilled in them, which says: You will listen and listen, yet never understand; and you will look and look, yet never perceive.For this people’s heart has grown callous; their ears are hard of hearing, and they have shut their eyes; otherwise they might see with their eyes and hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn back— and I would cure them.

Then I thought: They are just the poor; they have played the fool. For they don’t understand the way of the Lord, the justice of their God.

Do you have eyes, and not see, and do you have ears, and not hear? And do you not remember?

Such people do not comprehend and cannot understand, for He has shut their eyes so they cannot see, and their minds so they cannot understand.

Pay attention, you stupid people! Fools, when will you be wise?

Is this how you repay the Lord, you foolish and senseless people? Isn’t He your Father and Creator? Didn’t He make you and sustain you?

Yet to this day the Lord has not given you a mind to understand, eyes to see, or ears to hear.

Why does a fool have money in his hand with no intention of buying wisdom?

When its branches dry out, they will be broken off. Women will come and make fires with them, for they are not a people with understanding. Therefore their Maker will not have compassion on them, and their Creator will not be gracious to them.

They are both stupid and foolish, instructed by worthless idols made of wood!

So Ephraim has become like a silly, senseless dove; they call to Egypt, and they go to Assyria.
