百姓若說：『耶和華－我們的神為甚麼向我們行這一切事呢？』你就對他們說：『你們怎樣離棄我，在你們的地上事奉外邦神明，也必照樣在不屬你們的地上事奉外族人。』」

百姓若说：‘耶和华我们的神为什么向我们行这一切事呢？’你就对他们说：‘你们怎样离弃耶和华，在你们的地上侍奉外邦神，也必照样在不属你们的地上侍奉外邦人。’”

百姓若说：‘耶和华—我们的上帝为什么向我们行这一切事呢？’你就对他们说：‘你们怎样离弃我，在你们的地上事奉外邦神明，也必照样在不属你们的地上事奉外族人。’”

百姓若说：‘耶和华—我们的神为什么向我们行这一切事呢？’你就对他们说：‘你们怎样离弃我，在你们的地上事奉外邦神明，也必照样在不属你们的地上事奉外族人。’”

耶利米啊，如果有人问，‘为什么我们的上帝耶和华这样待我们？’你可以对他们说，‘你们怎样背弃耶和华，在自己的土地上供奉外族的神明，也要怎样在异地他乡服侍外族人。’

“将来如果有人问：‘耶和华我们的神，为什么向我们行这一切事呢？’你就要对他们说：‘你们怎样离弃我，在你们的土地上事奉外族人的神，你们也要在不属你们的土地上照样服事外族人。’”

百姓若說：『耶和華－我們的神為甚麼向我們行這一切事呢？』你就對他們說：『你們怎樣離棄耶和華，在你們的地上事奉外邦神，也必照樣在不屬你們的地上事奉外邦人。』」

百姓若說：『耶和華－我們的上帝為甚麼向我們行這一切事呢？』你就對他們說：『你們怎樣離棄我，在你們的地上事奉外邦神明，也必照樣在不屬你們的地上事奉外族人。』」

耶利米啊，如果有人問，『為什麼我們的上帝耶和華這樣待我們？』你可以對他們說，『你們怎樣背棄耶和華，在自己的土地上供奉外族的神明，也要怎樣在異地他鄉服侍外族人。』

“將來如果有人問：‘耶和華我們的神，為甚麼向我們行這一切事呢？’你就要對他們說：‘你們怎樣離棄我，在你們的土地上事奉外族人的神，你們也要在不屬你們的土地上照樣服事外族人。’”

將來人民若問說：「永恆主我們的上帝為甚麼向我們行這一切事呢？」你就要對他們說：「你們怎樣離棄了我，在你們的地上事奉外人的神，你們也必怎樣在不屬於你們的地上服事外族人。」』

爾曹若云、我上帝耶和華何為以此加我、爾當語之曰、爾曹棄我、奉事他神於爾境、如是、亦必奉事外人於非爾之地、○

如有詰先知者、謂我之上帝耶和華降災於我曷故。先知必曰、爾棄耶和華、在爾故土、崇事非爾之上帝、故必在非爾之地、從事異邦人。

民若曰、主我之天主、降此諸災於我何故、爾耶利米則謂之曰、主曰、爾既棄我、於爾地事異邦之神、故必在非爾之地、事異邦之人、

And when the people ask,‘ Why has the Lord our God done all this to us?’ you will tell them,‘ As you have forsaken me and served foreign gods in your own land, so now you will serve foreigners in a land not your own.’

“‘ Jeremiah,’ the people will ask,‘ Why has the Lord our God done all this to us?’ Then you will tell them,‘ You have deserted the Lord. You have served other gods in your own land. So now you will serve another nation in a land that is not your own.’

And when your people say,‘ Why has the Lord our God done all these things to us?’ you shall say to them,‘ As you have forsaken me and served foreign gods in your land, so you shall serve foreigners in a land that is not yours.’”

“ And when your people ask,‘ Why did the Lord our God do all this to us?’ you must reply,‘ You rejected him and gave yourselves to foreign gods in your own land. Now you will serve foreigners in a land that is not your own.’

When people ask,‘ For what offense has the LORD our God done all these things to us?’ You will respond to them,‘ Just as you abandoned me and served foreign gods in your land, so will you serve strangers in a land that is not yours.’

And it shall come about when they say,‘ Why has the Lord our God done all these things to us?’ then you shall say to them,‘ Just as you have abandoned Me and served foreign gods in your land, so you will serve strangers in a land that is not yours.’

And it will be when you say,‘ Why does the Lord our God do all these things to us?’ then you shall answer them,‘ Just as you have forsaken Me and served foreign gods in your land, so you shall serve aliens in a land that is not yours.’

And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore hath Jehovah our God done all these things unto us? then shalt thou say unto them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and served foreign gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land that is not yours.

When people ask,‘ For what offense has the Lord our God done all these things to us?’ You will respond to them: Just as you abandoned Me and served foreign gods in your land, so will you serve strangers in a land that is not yours.

And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore doeth the LORD our God all these[ things] unto us? then shalt thou answer them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and served strange gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land[ that is] not yours.

“ So then, Jeremiah, when your people ask,‘ Why has the LORD our God done all this to us?’ tell them,‘ It is because you rejected me and served foreign gods in your own land. So you must serve foreigners in a land that does not belong to you.’

It will happen, when you say,‘ Why has Yahweh our God done all these things to us?’ Then you shall say to them,‘ Just as you have forsaken me, and served foreign gods in your land, so you will serve strangers in a land that is not yours.’

這殿雖然崇高，將來凡經過的人必驚訝，嗤笑，說：『耶和華為何向這地和這殿如此行呢？』人必說：『因為此地的人離棄領他們祖先出埃及地的耶和華－他們的神，去親近別神，敬拜事奉它們，所以耶和華使這一切災禍臨到他們。』」

你若心裏說：「這一切的事為何臨到我呢？」是因你罪孽甚多。你的下襬揭起，你的腳跟受傷。

「許多國的百姓經過這城，就彼此談論說：『耶和華為何向這大城這樣做呢？』必有人回答說：『是因他們離棄了耶和華－他們神的約，事奉敬拜別神。』」

因為你富裕的時候，不以歡喜快樂的心事奉耶和華－你的神，所以你必在飢餓、乾渴、赤身、缺乏中事奉仇敵，那是耶和華派來攻擊你的。他必把鐵軛加在你的頸項上，直到把你除滅。

萬國必說：『耶和華為甚麼向此地這樣做呢？為甚麼要大發烈怒呢？』人必說：『這是因為這地的人離棄了耶和華－他們列祖的神領他們出埃及地的時候與他們所立的約，去事奉別神，敬拜他們所不認識的神明，這是耶和華未曾允許的。所以耶和華的怒氣向這地發作，將這書上所寫的一切詛咒都降在這地上。耶和華在怒氣、憤怒、大惱恨中將他們從本地拔出來，扔到別的地上，像今日一樣。』

所以我必將你們從這地趕出，直趕到你們和你們祖先素不認識之地。你們在那裏晝夜必事奉別神，因為我必不再向你們施恩。』」

「你將這一切的話指示這百姓，他們若問你說：『耶和華為甚麼說，要降這大災禍攻擊我們呢？我們有甚麼罪孽呢？我們向耶和華－我們的神犯了甚麼罪呢？』你就對他們說：『因為你們祖先離棄了我，隨從別神，事奉敬拜它們，卻離棄我，不遵守我的律法。這是耶和華說的。

這殿雖然崇高，將來凡經過的人必驚訝說：『耶和華為何向這地和這殿如此行呢？』人必說：『因為此地的人離棄領他們祖先出埃及地的耶和華－他們的神，去親近別神，敬拜事奉它們，所以耶和華使這一切災禍臨到他們。』」

「你們在那地住久了，生子生孫，若行為敗壞，為自己雕刻任何形狀的偶像，行耶和華－你神眼中看為惡的事，惹他發怒，我今日呼天喚地向你們作見證，你們在過約旦河得為業的地上必迅速滅亡！你們在那地的日子必不長久，必全然滅絕。耶和華必將你們分散在萬民中；在耶和華領你們到的列國中，你們剩下的人丁稀少。在那裏，你們必事奉人手所造的神明，它們是木頭，是石頭，不能看，不能聽，不能吃，不能聞。

你還說：『我無辜；耶和華的怒氣必定轉離我了。』看哪，我必審問你；因你自己說：『我沒有犯罪。』

奴僕轄制我們，無人救我們脫離他們的手。

因為我的百姓做了兩件惡事：離棄我這活水的泉源；又為自己鑿出水池，卻是破裂不能儲水的池子。」
