耶利米啊，如果有人問，『為什麼我們的上帝耶和華這樣待我們？』你可以對他們說，『你們怎樣背棄耶和華，在自己的土地上供奉外族的神明，也要怎樣在異地他鄉服侍外族人。』

百姓若说：‘耶和华我们的神为什么向我们行这一切事呢？’你就对他们说：‘你们怎样离弃耶和华，在你们的地上侍奉外邦神，也必照样在不属你们的地上侍奉外邦人。’”

百姓若说：‘耶和华—我们的上帝为什么向我们行这一切事呢？’你就对他们说：‘你们怎样离弃我，在你们的地上事奉外邦神明，也必照样在不属你们的地上事奉外族人。’”

百姓若说：‘耶和华—我们的神为什么向我们行这一切事呢？’你就对他们说：‘你们怎样离弃我，在你们的地上事奉外邦神明，也必照样在不属你们的地上事奉外族人。’”

耶利米啊，如果有人问，‘为什么我们的上帝耶和华这样待我们？’你可以对他们说，‘你们怎样背弃耶和华，在自己的土地上供奉外族的神明，也要怎样在异地他乡服侍外族人。’

“将来如果有人问：‘耶和华我们的神，为什么向我们行这一切事呢？’你就要对他们说：‘你们怎样离弃我，在你们的土地上事奉外族人的神，你们也要在不属你们的土地上照样服事外族人。’”

百姓若說：『耶和華－我們的神為甚麼向我們行這一切事呢？』你就對他們說：『你們怎樣離棄耶和華，在你們的地上事奉外邦神，也必照樣在不屬你們的地上事奉外邦人。』」

百姓若說：『耶和華－我們的上帝為甚麼向我們行這一切事呢？』你就對他們說：『你們怎樣離棄我，在你們的地上事奉外邦神明，也必照樣在不屬你們的地上事奉外族人。』」

百姓若說：『耶和華－我們的神為甚麼向我們行這一切事呢？』你就對他們說：『你們怎樣離棄我，在你們的地上事奉外邦神明，也必照樣在不屬你們的地上事奉外族人。』」

“將來如果有人問：‘耶和華我們的神，為甚麼向我們行這一切事呢？’你就要對他們說：‘你們怎樣離棄我，在你們的土地上事奉外族人的神，你們也要在不屬你們的土地上照樣服事外族人。’”

將來人民若問說：「永恆主我們的上帝為甚麼向我們行這一切事呢？」你就要對他們說：「你們怎樣離棄了我，在你們的地上事奉外人的神，你們也必怎樣在不屬於你們的地上服事外族人。」』

爾曹若云、我上帝耶和華何為以此加我、爾當語之曰、爾曹棄我、奉事他神於爾境、如是、亦必奉事外人於非爾之地、○

如有詰先知者、謂我之上帝耶和華降災於我曷故。先知必曰、爾棄耶和華、在爾故土、崇事非爾之上帝、故必在非爾之地、從事異邦人。

民若曰、主我之天主、降此諸災於我何故、爾耶利米則謂之曰、主曰、爾既棄我、於爾地事異邦之神、故必在非爾之地、事異邦之人、

And when the people ask,‘ Why has the Lord our God done all this to us?’ you will tell them,‘ As you have forsaken me and served foreign gods in your own land, so now you will serve foreigners in a land not your own.’

“‘ Jeremiah,’ the people will ask,‘ Why has the Lord our God done all this to us?’ Then you will tell them,‘ You have deserted the Lord. You have served other gods in your own land. So now you will serve another nation in a land that is not your own.’

And when your people say,‘ Why has the Lord our God done all these things to us?’ you shall say to them,‘ As you have forsaken me and served foreign gods in your land, so you shall serve foreigners in a land that is not yours.’”

“ And when your people ask,‘ Why did the Lord our God do all this to us?’ you must reply,‘ You rejected him and gave yourselves to foreign gods in your own land. Now you will serve foreigners in a land that is not your own.’

When people ask,‘ For what offense has the LORD our God done all these things to us?’ You will respond to them,‘ Just as you abandoned me and served foreign gods in your land, so will you serve strangers in a land that is not yours.’

And it shall come about when they say,‘ Why has the Lord our God done all these things to us?’ then you shall say to them,‘ Just as you have abandoned Me and served foreign gods in your land, so you will serve strangers in a land that is not yours.’

And it will be when you say,‘ Why does the Lord our God do all these things to us?’ then you shall answer them,‘ Just as you have forsaken Me and served foreign gods in your land, so you shall serve aliens in a land that is not yours.’

And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore hath Jehovah our God done all these things unto us? then shalt thou say unto them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and served foreign gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land that is not yours.

When people ask,‘ For what offense has the Lord our God done all these things to us?’ You will respond to them: Just as you abandoned Me and served foreign gods in your land, so will you serve strangers in a land that is not yours.

And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore doeth the LORD our God all these[ things] unto us? then shalt thou answer them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and served strange gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land[ that is] not yours.

“ So then, Jeremiah, when your people ask,‘ Why has the LORD our God done all this to us?’ tell them,‘ It is because you rejected me and served foreign gods in your own land. So you must serve foreigners in a land that does not belong to you.’

It will happen, when you say,‘ Why has Yahweh our God done all these things to us?’ Then you shall say to them,‘ Just as you have forsaken me, and served foreign gods in your land, so you will serve strangers in a land that is not yours.’

這殿雖然宏偉，但將來經過的人必驚訝，譏笑說，『耶和華為什麼這樣對待這地方和這殿呢？』人們會回答，『因為他們背棄曾領他們祖先離開埃及的耶和華——他們的上帝，去追隨、祭拜、供奉別的神明，所以耶和華把這一切災禍降在他們身上。』」

也許你在想：「為什麼這些事發生在我身上？」你的裙子被撕破，你遭受蹂躪，是因為你罪大惡極。

「各國的人經過這城時都會彼此議論說，『為什麼耶和華這樣對待這座大城？』有人會回答，『因為城裡的人背棄了他們的上帝耶和華的約，供奉、祭拜其他神明。』」

如果你們在富足時不心甘情願地事奉你們的上帝耶和華，你們必失去所有，饑餓乾渴、赤身裸體地侍奉耶和華派來攻擊你們的敵人。祂要把鐵軛加在你們的頸上，直到消滅你們。

萬國必問，『耶和華為什麼要這樣對待這地方？祂為什麼大發烈怒？』必有人回答說，『因為這地方的人背棄了他們祖先的上帝耶和華領他們出埃及時與他們所立的約，去供奉、祭拜他們所不認識、並非耶和華所分派的神明。因此，耶和華向這片土地發怒，把這書上的一切咒詛都降在這裡。耶和華盛怒之下把他們從這地方連根拔起，扔到別的地方，正如今日的情形。』

所以，我要把你們從這裡驅逐到你們和你們祖先都不認識的地方，你們在那裡要日夜供奉別的神明，因為我不再恩待你們。』」

「當你把這些話告訴他們的時候，他們會質問你，『耶和華為什麼給我們降這大災難？我們有什麼罪？我們哪裡得罪了我們的上帝耶和華？』你要對他們說，『耶和華說，你們的祖先背棄我，去跟隨、供奉、祭拜別的神明；他們背棄我，不遵守我的律法。

這殿雖然宏偉，但將來經過的人必驚訝地問，『耶和華為什麼這樣對待這地方和這殿呢？』人們會回答，『因為他們背棄曾領他們祖先離開埃及的耶和華——他們的上帝，去追隨、祭拜、供奉別的神明，所以耶和華把這一切災禍降在他們身上。』」

「將來，即使你們在那裡安頓已久、子孫滿堂，也不可墮落、製造任何形狀的神像，不可做你們的上帝耶和華視為邪惡的事，惹祂發怒。否則，今天我叫天地作證，你們必很快從約旦河對面將要佔領的土地上滅亡，你們必被徹底消滅，不得在那裡長久居住。耶和華必把你們驅散到列邦，使你們在列邦中的人數所剩無幾。你們必在那裡供奉人用木石造的不會看、不會聽、不會吃、不會聞的神像。

你們還說，『我們是無辜的，耶和華不再向我們發怒。』看啊，我必審判你們，因為你們拒不認罪。

奴僕做了我們的主人，無人從他們手中解救我們。

因為我的子民犯了兩項罪，他們離棄了我這活水源泉，為自己挖了不能蓄水的破池子。
