The Lord God rules over all. He says to me,“ The people have spoken these words. So my words will be like fire in your mouth. I will make the people like wood. And the fire will burn them up.”

所以耶和华万军之神如此说：“因为百姓说这话，我必使我的话在你口中为火，使他们为柴；这火便将他们烧灭。”

所以耶和华—万军之上帝如此说：“因为他们说这话，看哪，我必使我的话在你口中为火，使这百姓为柴，火便将他们烧灭。

所以耶和华—万军之神如此说：“因为他们说这话，看哪，我必使我的话在你口中为火，使这百姓为柴，火便将他们烧灭。

因此，万军之上帝耶和华对我说：“因为他们说了这话，我要使我的话在你口中成为火，使他们像柴一样被烧毁。

故萬軍之上帝耶和華曰、為彼言是、我必使我言在爾口為火、斯民為薪而焚之、

萬有之上帝耶和華、告先知曰、爾傳我命、民棄之若此、我必以命為火、以民為柴、焚燬務盡。

故主萬有之天主如是云、因爾曹有斯言、故我必使我言於爾口為火、使民為薪、焚燬務盡、

Therefore this is what the Lord God Almighty says:“ Because the people have spoken these words, I will make my words in your mouth a fire and these people the wood it consumes.

Therefore thus says the Lord, the God of hosts:“ Because you have spoken this word, behold, I am making my words in your mouth a fire, and this people wood, and the fire shall consume them.

Therefore, this is what the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies says:“ Because the people are talking like this, my messages will flame out of your mouth and burn the people like kindling wood.

Therefore, this is what the Lord GOD of Armies says: Because you have spoken this word, I am going to make my words become fire in your mouth. These people are the wood, and the fire will consume them.

Therefore, this is what the Lord, the God of armies says:“ Because you have spoken this word, Behold, I am making My words fire in your mouth, And this people wood, and it will consume them.

Therefore thus says the Lord God of hosts:“ Because you speak this word, Behold, I will make My words in your mouth fire, And this people wood, And it shall devour them.

Wherefore thus saith Jehovah, the God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.

Therefore, this is what the Lord God of Hosts says: Because you have spoken this word, I am going to make My words become fire in your mouth. These people are the wood, and the fire will consume them.

Wherefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.

Because of that, the LORD, the God who rules over all, said to me,“ Because these people have spoken like this, I will make the words that I put in your mouth like fire. And I will make this people like wood which the fiery judgments you speak will burn up.”

Therefore Yahweh, the God of Armies says,“ Because you speak this word, behold, I will make my words in your mouth fire, and this people wood, and it will devour them.

Then the Lord reached out his hand. He touched my mouth and spoke to me. He said,“ I have put my words in your mouth.

“ My message is like fire,” announces the Lord.“ It is like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces.

If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and eats up their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to harm them must die.These witnesses have power to close up the sky. Then it will not rain while they are prophesying. They also have power to turn the waters into blood. And they can strike the earth with every kind of plague. They can do this as often as they want to.

I commanded my servants the prophets what to say. I told them what I planned to do. But your people refused to obey me. So I had to punish them.“ Then they had a change of heart. They said,‘ The Lord who rules over all has punished us because of how we have lived. He was fair and right to do that. He has done to us just what he decided to do.’ ”

So I used the words of my prophets to cut you in pieces. I used my words to put you to death. Then my judgments blazed out like the sun.

Elijah answered the captain,“ If I’m really a man of God, may fire come down from heaven! May it burn up you and your 50 men!” Then fire came down from heaven. It burned up the captain and his men.After that happened, the king sent another captain to Elijah. The captain had his 50 men with him. He said to Elijah,“ Man of God, the king says,‘ Come down at once!’ ”Elijah replied,“ If I’m really a man of God, may fire come down from heaven! May it burn up you and your 50 men!” Then the fire of God came down from heaven. It burned up the captain and his 50 men.So the king sent a third captain with his 50 men. The captain went up to Elijah. He fell on his knees in front of him.“ Man of God,” he begged,“ please have respect for my life! Please have respect for the lives of these 50 men!Fire has come down from heaven. It has burned up the first two captains and all their men. But please have respect for my life!”

Then Jeremiah the prophet spoke to the false prophet Hananiah. Jeremiah said,“ Listen, Hananiah! The Lord hasn’t sent you. But you have tricked these people. Now they trust in lies.So the Lord says,‘ I am about to remove you from the face of the earth. Before this year is over, you will die. You have taught the people to turn against me.’ ”In the seventh month of that very year, the false prophet Hananiah died.
