This message was given concerning Damascus. This is what the Lord says:“ The towns of Hamath and Arpad are struck with fear, for they have heard the news of their destruction. Their hearts are troubled like a wild sea in a raging storm.

But the wicked are like the tossing sea; for it cannot be quiet, and its waters toss up mire and dirt.

They mounted up to heaven; they went down to the depths; their courage melted away in their evil plight;they reeled and staggered like drunken men and were at their wits’ end.

and as they sailed he fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water and were in danger.And they went and woke him, saying,“ Master, Master, we are perishing!” And he awoke and rebuked the wind and the raging waves, and they ceased, and there was a calm.

And he gathered men about him and became leader of a marauding band, after the killing by David. And they went to Damascus and lived there and made him king in Damascus.
