敵必若獅、自約但之叢林而出、攻其恆茂之草場、我必令其突然逃避、且立所選者治之、誰與我比擬、誰與我爭辯、牧者伊誰、立於我前、

孰能與我比儗、孰能與我辯論、孰能為民牧、侍於我側我遴選之、以目會意、彼則疾趨、攻擊斯邦、譬彼獅子、因約但之水漲溢、出自河濱、遊於牧地、青草芊綿。

敵必忽來、如獅自約但河濱之叢林而上、攻擊鞏固之所、轉瞬之間、我將以東人逐於其地、誰蒙簡選、則我命之以轄斯地、孰能與我比擬、孰能與我爭辯、有何牧人、能立於我前、

“ Like a lion coming up from Jordan’s thickets to a rich pastureland, I will chase Edom from its land in an instant. Who is the chosen one I will appoint for this? Who is like me and who can challenge me? And what shepherd can stand against me?”

“ I will be like a lion coming up from the bushes by the Jordan River. I will hunt in rich grasslands. I will chase you from your land in an instant. What nation will I choose to do this? Which one will I appoint? Is anyone like me? Who would dare to argue with me? What leader can stand against me?”

Behold, like a lion coming up from the jungle of the Jordan against a perennial pasture, I will suddenly make him run away from her. And I will appoint over her whomever I choose. For who is like me? Who will summon me? What shepherd can stand before me?

I will come like a lion from the thickets of the Jordan, leaping on the sheep in the pasture. I will chase Edom from its land, and I will appoint the leader of my choice. For who is like me, and who can challenge me? What ruler can oppose my will?”

Behold, one will come up like a lion from the thicket of the Jordan to a perennially watered pasture; for in an instant I will chase him away from it, and I will appoint over it whoever is chosen. For who is like Me, and who will summon Me into court? And who then is the shepherd who can stand against Me?”

“ Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the floodplain of the Jordan Against the dwelling place of the strong; But I will suddenly make him run away from her. And who is a chosen man that I may appoint over her? For who is like Me? Who will arraign Me? And who is that shepherd Who will withstand Me?”

Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the pride of the Jordan against the strong habitation: for I will suddenly make them run away from it; and whoso is chosen, him will I appoint over it: for who is like me? and who will appoint me a time? and who is the shepherd that will stand before me?

“ A lion coming up from the thick undergrowth along the Jordan scatters the sheep in the pastureland around it. So too I will chase the Edomites off their land. Then I will appoint over it whomever I choose. For there is no one like me, and there is no one who can call me to account. There is no ruler who can stand up against me.

If you have raced with runners and they have worn you out, how can you compete with horses? If you stumble in a peaceful land, what will you do in the thickets of the Jordan?

Jacob’s leader will be one of them; his ruler will issue from him. I will invite him to me, and he will approach me, for who would otherwise risk his life to approach me? This is the LORD’s declaration.

“ Look, it will be like a lion coming from the thickets of the Jordan to the watered grazing land. I will chase Babylon away from her land in a flash. I will appoint whoever is chosen for her. For who is like me? Who will issue me a summons? Who is the shepherd who can stand against me?”Therefore, hear the plans that the LORD has drawn up against Babylon and the strategies he has devised against the land of the Chaldeans: Certainly the flock’s little lambs will be dragged away; certainly the grazing land will be made desolate because of them.At the sound of Babylon’s conquest the earth will quake; a cry will be heard among the nations.

No one is ferocious enough to rouse Leviathan; who then can stand against me?

LORD, who is like you among the gods? Who is like you, glorious in holiness, revered with praises, performing wonders?

If it is a matter of strength, look, he is the powerful one! If it is a matter of justice, who can summon him?

A lion has gone up from his thicket; a destroyer of nations has set out. He has left his lair to make your land a waste. Your cities will be reduced to uninhabited ruins.

Now the Jordan overflows its banks throughout the harvest season. But as soon as the priests carrying the ark reached the Jordan, their feet touched the water at its edge

These are the men who crossed the Jordan in the first month when it was overflowing all its banks, and put to flight all those in the valleys to the east and to the west.

And you— you are to be feared. When you are angry, who can stand before you?

Though I am blameless, I no longer care about myself; I renounce my life.

Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct him? Let him who argues with God give an answer.Then Job answered the LORD:I am so insignificant. How can I answer you? I place my hand over my mouth.I have spoken once, and I will not reply; twice, but now I can add nothing.Then the LORD answered Job from the whirlwind:Get ready to answer me like a man; When I question you, you will inform me.Would you really challenge my justice? Would you declare me guilty to justify yourself?

because the great day of their wrath has come! And who is able to stand?”

You asked,“ Who is this who conceals my counsel with ignorance?” Surely I spoke about things I did not understand, things too wondrous for me to know.You said,“ Listen now, and I will speak. When I question you, you will inform me.”I had heard reports about you, but now my eyes have seen you.

Who is like the LORD our God— the one enthroned on high,who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth?

For who in the skies can compare with the LORD? Who among the heavenly beings is like the LORD?

Who can withstand his indignation? Who can endure his burning anger? His wrath is poured out like fire; even rocks are shattered before him.

If only I knew how to find him, so that I could go to his throne.I would plead my case before him and fill my mouth with arguments.I would learn how he would answer me; and understand what he would say to me.Would he prosecute me forcefully? No, he would certainly pay attention to me.Then an upright man could reason with him, and I would escape from my Judge forever.

Do not bring your servant into judgment, for no one alive is righteous in your sight.

“ To whom will you compare me, or who is my equal?” asks the Holy One.

LORD God of Armies, who is strong like you, LORD? Your faithfulness surrounds you.

Listen to the wail of the shepherds, for their glory is destroyed. Listen to the roar of young lions, for the thickets of the Jordan are destroyed.
