境内谣言四起时，你们不要惊慌害怕，因为今年传这风声，明年却传那风声，说境内必有暴乱，官长要互相残杀。

看啊，我要使来自北方的列强联合起来攻打巴比伦，他们要列阵攻占它，他们的勇士箭术高超，百发百中。他们要在迦勒底肆意掳掠，直到心满意足。这是耶和华说的。“抢夺我产业的巴比伦人啊，你们欢喜快乐，像草场上欢跳的母牛犊，又像嘶鸣的公马。生养你们的母亲巴比伦将羞愧难当，蒙受耻辱，排在列国之末，沦为干旱的荒漠。由于耶和华的愤怒，巴比伦必无人居住，荒凉不堪。她满目疮痍，令路人惊惧、嗤笑。弓箭手啊，你们要列阵围攻巴比伦，向她猛射，不要吝啬箭枝，因为她得罪了耶和华。你们要从四面向她吶喊，她必投降，她的堡垒将倾倒，城墙将坍塌，因为耶和华要报应她。你们要向她复仇，她怎样对待别人，你们也要怎样对待她。你们要铲除在巴比伦撒种的和收割的。为躲避敌人的刀剑，人们各自逃到故土亲族那里。

恐怖的日子来临了，他们想寻求平安，却得不到平安。灾祸接踵而至，噩耗不断传来。那时，他们必求问先知，但祭司的教导必消逝，长老们必无计可施。

你们听见战争爆发、战讯频传时，不要惊慌，因为这些事必然发生，只是末日还没有到。

“要在大地上竖起旌旗，在列国吹响号角，让他们预备攻打巴比伦。要召集亚拉腊人、米尼人、亚实基拿人，使他们派遣将领率骑兵如蝗虫一样铺天盖地而来，攻打巴比伦。要让列国预备攻打巴比伦，使玛代的诸王及其省长、总督和所统治的人攻打巴比伦。

“因为巴比伦人毁灭了耶和华的殿，耶和华要使玛代诸王毁灭他们。玛代人啊，要磨尖箭头，拿起盾牌，

那里派出的使节乘芦苇船行驶在水面上。迅捷的使节啊，去身材高大、皮肤光滑、远近畏惧、强盛凶悍、国土河流纵横的民族那里吧！世上的一切居民啊，山上竖立旗帜的时候，你们要看；号角吹响的时候，你们要听。

我必惊动亚述王的心，让他听见风声后便返回本国，使他在那里死于刀下。’”

要在光秃的山顶上竖立旗帜，向战士高呼，挥手示意他们进攻贵族居住的城。我已向我拣选的士兵发出命令，我已号召我的勇士去倾倒我的烈怒，他们因我的胜利而欢喜。
