I swear by myself,” declares the Lord,“ that Bozrah will become a ruin and a curse, an object of horror and reproach; and all its towns will be in ruins forever.”

I make a promise in my own name. Bozrah will be destroyed,” announces the Lord.“ People will be shocked at it. They will say Bozrah is a shameful place. They will use its name as a curse. And all its towns will be destroyed forever.”

For I have sworn by myself, declares the Lord, that Bozrah shall become a horror, a taunt, a waste, and a curse, and all her cities shall be perpetual wastes.”

For I have sworn by my own name,” says the Lord,“ that Bozrah will become an object of horror and a heap of ruins; it will be mocked and cursed. All its towns and villages will be desolate forever.”

For by myself I have sworn”— this is the LORD’s declaration—“ Bozrah will become a desolation, a disgrace, a ruin, and an example for cursing, and all its surrounding cities will become ruins forever.”

For I have sworn by Myself,” declares the Lord,“ that Bozrah will become an object of horror, a disgrace, a wasteland, and a curse; and all its cities will become permanent ruins.”

以東的溪流將變成柏油，它的塵土將變成硫磺，它的土地將成為燃燒著的柏油——晝夜總不熄滅，煙氣永遠上騰；那地世世代代荒涼，永永遠遠無人經過。鵜鶘和豪豬將占有那地，貓頭鷹和烏鴉將居住其中；耶和華要把準繩和線砣拉在其上，使它變得空虛混沌。那裡沒有貴族來宣稱王權，所有的首領也都歸於無有。它的城堡將長出荊棘，堡壘長出灌木叢和蒺藜；它必成為豺狗的巢、鴕鳥的窩。曠野的走獸要與土狼相遇，野山羊要呼叫同伴，夜行動物要在那裡棲身，為自己找到歇息之處。貓頭鷹要在那裡築窩、下蛋、孵化，並在它的陰影下聚攏幼雛；鷹隼也在那裡各與自己的伴偶聚集。

這從以東的波斯拉而來，穿深紅色衣服的是誰呢？這衣著尊貴，以強大能力前行的是誰呢？「就是我，是我藉著公義說話，以大能施行拯救。」

恨以掃；我使以掃的山地變得荒涼，把他的繼業給曠野的豺狗。」儘管以東說：「我們雖遭毀壞，但我們要回去，重建廢墟之處。」萬軍之耶和華卻如此說：「他們就算重建了，我還要拆毀。人們必稱呼以東為『邪惡的地界』、『耶和華永遠惱怒之民』。」
