Concerning the Ammonites, thus saith the LORD; Hath Israel no sons? hath he no heir? why[ then] doth their king inherit Gad, and his people dwell in his cities?

论亚扪人。耶和华如此说：“以色列没有儿子吗？没有后嗣吗？玛勒堪为何得迦得之地为业呢？属他的民为何住其中的城邑呢？

Concerning the Ammonites: This is what the Lord says:“ Has Israel no sons? Has Israel no heir? Why then has Molek taken possession of Gad? Why do his people live in its towns?

Here is what the Lord says about the people of Ammon. He says,“ Doesn’t Israel have any sons? Doesn’t Israel have anyone to take over the family property? Then why has the god named Molek taken over Gad? Why do those who worship him live in its towns?

Concerning the Ammonites. Thus says the Lord:“ Has Israel no sons? Has he no heir? Why then has Milcom dispossessed Gad, and his people settled in its cities?

This message was given concerning the Ammonites. This is what the Lord says:“ Are there no descendants of Israel to inherit the land of Gad? Why are you, who worship Molech, living in its towns?

About the Ammonites, this is what the LORD says: Does Israel have no sons? Is he without an heir? Why then has Milcom dispossessed Gad and his people settled in their cities?

The LORD spoke about the Ammonites.“ Do you think there are not any people of the nation of Israel remaining? Do you think there are not any of them remaining to reinherit their land? Is that why you people who worship the god Milcom have taken possession of the territory of Gad and live in his cities?

Of the children of Ammon. Yahweh says:“ Has Israel no sons? Has he no heir? Why then does Malcam possess Gad, and his people dwell in its cities?

Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away[ the punishment] thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border:But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:And their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith the LORD.

And thou, son of man, prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning the Ammonites, and concerning their reproach; even say thou, The sword, the sword[ is] drawn: for the slaughter[ it is] furbished, to consume because of the glittering:Whiles they see vanity unto thee, whiles they divine a lie unto thee, to bring thee upon the necks of[ them that are] slain, of the wicked, whose day is come, when their iniquity[ shall have] an end.Shall I cause[ it] to return into his sheath? I will judge thee in the place where thou wast created, in the land of thy nativity.And I will pour out mine indignation upon thee, I will blow against thee in the fire of my wrath, and deliver thee into the hand of brutish men,[ and] skilful to destroy.Thou shalt be for fuel to the fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land; thou shalt be no[ more] remembered: for I the LORD have spoken[ it].

It came to pass after this also,[ that] the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them[ other] beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.

Son of man, set thy face against the Ammonites, and prophesy against them;And say unto the Ammonites, Hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou saidst, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity;Behold, therefore I will deliver thee to the men of the east for a possession, and they shall set their palaces in thee, and make their dwellings in thee: they shall eat thy fruit, and they shall drink thy milk.And I will make Rabbah a stable for camels, and the Ammonites a couchingplace for flocks: and ye shall know that I[ am] the LORD.For thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast clapped[ thine] hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced in heart with all thy despite against the land of Israel;Behold, therefore I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and will deliver thee for a spoil to the heathen; and I will cut thee off from the people, and I will cause thee to perish out of the countries: I will destroy thee; and thou shalt know that I[ am] the LORD.Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because that Moab and Seir do say, Behold, the house of Judah[ is] like unto all the heathen;Therefore, behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities[ which are] on his frontiers, the glory of the country, Bethjeshimoth, Baalmeon, and Kiriathaim,Unto the men of the east with the Ammonites, and will give them in possession, that the Ammonites may not be remembered among the nations.

Edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon,

An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the LORD for ever:

I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the revilings of the children of Ammon, whereby they have reproached my people, and magnified[ themselves] against their border.Therefore[ as] I live, saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah,[ even] the breeding of nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my people shall possess them.This shall they have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified[ themselves] against the people of the LORD of hosts.The LORD[ will be] terrible unto them: for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and[ men] shall worship him, every one from his place,[ even] all the isles of the heathen.

Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted;[ there is] sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.

Then Nahash the Ammonite came up, and encamped against Jabeshgilead: and all the men of Jabesh said unto Nahash, Make a covenant with us, and we will serve thee.And Nahash the Ammonite answered them, On this[ condition] will I make[ a covenant] with you, that I may thrust out all your right eyes, and lay it[ for] a reproach upon all Israel.And the elders of Jabesh said unto him, Give us seven days’ respite, that we may send messengers unto all the coasts of Israel: and then, if[ there be] no man to save us, we will come out to thee.

Against Moab thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Woe unto Nebo! for it is spoiled: Kiriathaim is confounded[ and] taken: Misgab is confounded and dismayed.

Concerning Edom, thus saith the LORD of hosts;[ Is] wisdom no more in Teman? is counsel perished from the prudent? is their wisdom vanished?

For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy[ them]: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another.

On that day they read in the book of Moses in the audience of the people; and therein was found written, that the Ammonite and the Moabite should not come into the congregation of God for ever;Because they met not the children of Israel with bread and with water, but hired Balaam against them, that he should curse them: howbeit our God turned the curse into a blessing.

And the king of the children of Ammon answered unto the messengers of Jephthah, Because Israel took away my land, when they came up out of Egypt, from Arnon even unto Jabbok, and unto Jordan: now therefore restore those[ lands] again peaceably.And Jephthah sent messengers again unto the king of the children of Ammon:And said unto him, Thus saith Jephthah, Israel took not away the land of Moab, nor the land of the children of Ammon:

And the younger, she also bare a son, and called his name Benammi: the same[ is] the father of the children of Ammon unto this day.

Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;

But when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard[ it], they laughed us to scorn, and despised us, and said, What[ is] this thing that ye do? will ye rebel against the king?

O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them.

From Jordan eastward, all the land of Gilead, the Gadites, and the Reubenites, and the Manassites, from Aroer, which[ is] by the river Arnon, even Gilead and Bashan.

And send them to the king of Edom, and to the king of Moab, and to the king of the Ammonites, and to the king of Tyrus, and to the king of Zidon, by the hand of the messengers which come to Jerusalem unto Zedekiah king of Judah;

Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.

And[ when] thou comest nigh over against the children of Ammon, distress them not, nor meddle with them: for I will not give thee of the land of the children of Ammon[ any] possession; because I have given it unto the children of Lot[ for] a possession.

Concerning Kedar, and concerning the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon shall smite, thus saith the LORD; Arise ye, go up to Kedar, and spoil the men of the east.

And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hands of the Philistines, and into the hands of the children of Ammon.And that year they vexed and oppressed the children of Israel: eighteen years, all the children of Israel that[ were] on the other side Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which[ is] in Gilead.

But it came to pass,[ that] when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up,[ and] that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth,

And the LORD sent against him bands of the Chaldees, and bands of the Syrians, and bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servants the prophets.
