Therefore I wail over Moab, for all Moab I cry out, I moan for the people of Kir Hareseth.

So I weep over Moab. I cry for all Moab’s people. I groan for the people of Kir Hareseth.

Therefore I wail for Moab; I cry out for all Moab; for the men of Kir-hareseth I mourn.

So now I wail for Moab; yes, I will mourn for Moab. My heart is broken for the men of Kir hareseth.

Therefore, I will wail over Moab. I will cry out for Moab, all of it; he will moan for the men of Kir-heres.

My heart cries out because of Moab’s plight, and for the fugitives stretched out as far as Zoar and Eglath Shelishiyah. For they weep as they make their way up the ascent of Luhith; they loudly lament their demise on the road to Horonaim.

They tore down the cities and each man threw a stone into every cultivated field until they were covered. They stopped up every spring and chopped down every productive tree. Only Kir Hareseth was left intact, but the slingers surrounded it and attacked it.

The rulers of the nations trample all over its vines, which reach Jazer and spread to the desert; their shoots spread out and cross the sea.So I weep along with Jazer over the vines of Sibmah. I will saturate you with my tears, Heshbon and Elealeh, for the conquering invaders shout triumphantly over your fruit and crops.Joy and happiness disappear from the orchards, and in the vineyards no one rejoices or shouts; no one treads out juice in the wine vats– I have brought the joyful shouts to an end.So my heart constantly sighs for Moab, like the strumming of a harp, my inner being sighs for Kir Hareseth.
