Judgment has come to the plateau— to Holon, Jahzah and Mephaath,

The high plain has been judged. So have Holon, Jahzah and Mephaath.

“ Judgment has come upon the tableland, upon Holon, and Jahzah, and Mephaath,

Judgment has been poured out on the towns of the plateau— on Holon and Jahaz and Mephaath,

“ Judgment has also come upon the plain, upon Holon, Jahzah, and against Mephaath,

“ And judgment has come on the plain country: On Holon and Jahzah and Mephaath,

“ Judgment has come to the land of the plateau— to Holon, Jahzah, Mephaath,

“ Judgment will come on the cities on the high plain: on Holon, Jahzah, and Mephaath,

Jahaz, Kedemoth, Mephaath,

Heshbon and Elealeh cry out; their voices are heard as far away as Jahaz. Therefore the soldiers of Moab cry out, and they tremble.

The destroyer will move against every town; not one town will escape. The valley will perish, and the plain will be annihilated, as the LORD has said.

But Sihon would not let Israel travel through his territory. Instead, he gathered his whole army and went out to confront Israel in the wilderness. When he came to Jahaz, he fought against Israel.

Therefore I am about to expose Moab’s flank beginning with its frontier cities, the splendor of the land: Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim.

Therefore, as I live— this is the declaration of the LORD of Armies, the God of Israel— Moab will be like Sodom and the Ammonites like Gomorrah: a place overgrown with weeds, a salt pit, and a perpetual wasteland. The remnant of my people will plunder them; the remainder of my nation will dispossess them.

From the tribe of Reuben they gave: Bezer with its pasturelands, Jahzah with its pasturelands,Kedemoth with its pasturelands, and Mephaath with its pasturelands— four cities.
