入城以告、邑眾號呼。以利坐路旁以待、蓋慮上帝之匱見虜、中心戰慄。既聞號呼之聲、則曰、眾呼何故、其人趨至、而告以利。

伽得人建置邑垣、即底本、亞大錄、亞羅耳、

大闢坐邑之月城間、戍卒登邑門之樓、遙見一人獨趨、呼告於王、王曰、如惟一人、必報信音。其人疾走漸近。戍卒又見一人趨至、告閽者曰、我又觀一人獨趨。王曰、彼亦報信者也。戍卒曰、我視首趨者之步履、與撒督子亞希馬斯無異。王曰、彼善人也、必報嘉音。亞希馬斯呼告於王、曰、捷矣、俯伏於王前、曰、當頌美爾之上帝耶和華、已將所犯我主我王者、付於爾手。王曰、少者押沙龍安否。亞希馬斯曰、約押遣王之臣僕及我時、我見眾喧嘩、不知何故。王曰、汝暫退、侍於側。遂遵其命。古示至、曰、我主我王歟、我獲信音、今日耶和華已伸爾冤、報犯上之人。王曰、少者押沙龍安否。古示曰、願我主我王之敵、暨諸犯上欲害爾者、咸如彼少者。

大闢曰、爾奚自。曰、自以色列營疾趨而至。大闢曰、其事若何、明以告我。曰、民已戰敗、死亡甚眾、掃羅與其子約拿單亦死。

與約耳曾孫、示罵雅孫、亞撒子庇拉、庇拉居於亞囉耳、延及尼破、巴力免。

濟約但至伽得河中之亞囉耳、建營於邑南、牙設相向之所。
