This is the word that the Lord spoke concerning Moab in the past.But now the Lord has spoken, saying,“ In three years, like the years of a hired worker, the glory of Moab will be brought into contempt, in spite of all his great multitude, and those who remain will be very few and feeble.”

Therefore say to them, Thus says the Lord God: None of my words will be delayed any longer, but the word that I speak will be performed, declares the Lord God.”

Tell them therefore,‘ Thus says the Lord God: I will put an end to this proverb, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel.’ But say to them, The days are near, and the fulfillment of every vision.

Then the Lord said to me,“ You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it.”

And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

Vengeance is mine, and recompense, for the time when their foot shall slip; for the day of their calamity is at hand, and their doom comes swiftly.’
