Then Moab will be ashamed of Chemosh, as Israel was ashamed when they trusted in Bethel.

Then Moab’s people will be ashamed of their god named Chemosh. They will be ashamed just as the people of Israel were when they trusted in their false god at Bethel.

At last Moab will be ashamed of his idol Chemosh, as the people of Israel were ashamed of their gold calf at Bethel.

Moab will be put to shame because of Chemosh, just as the house of Israel was put to shame because of Bethel that they trusted in.

And Moab will be ashamed of Chemosh, just as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel, their confidence.

Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, As the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel, their confidence.

And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Beth- el their confidence.

Moab will be put to shame because of Chemosh, just as the house of Israel was put to shame because of Bethel that they trusted in.

And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel their confidence.

The people of Moab will be disappointed by their god Chemosh. They will be as disappointed as the people of Israel were when they put their trust in the calf god at Bethel.

Moab will be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel, their confidence.

Will you not possess what Chemosh your god gives you to possess? And all that the Lord our God has dispossessed before us, we will possess.

How it is broken! How they wail! How Moab has turned his back in shame! So Moab has become a derision and a horror to all that are around him.”

I have spurned your calf, O Samaria. My anger burns against them. How long will they be incapable of innocence?For it is from Israel; a craftsman made it; it is not God. The calf of Samaria shall be broken to pieces.

All of them are put to shame and confounded; the makers of idols go in confusion together.

Then Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, and for Molech the abomination of the Ammonites, on the mountain east of Jerusalem.

And when Moab presents himself, when he wearies himself on the high place, when he comes to his sanctuary to pray, he will not prevail.

but do not seek Bethel, and do not enter into Gilgal or cross over to Beersheba; for Gilgal shall surely go into exile, and Bethel shall come to nothing.”Seek the Lord and live, lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and it devour, with none to quench it for Bethel,

And Elijah said to them,“ Seize the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape.” And they seized them. And Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon and slaughtered them there.

“ Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, you survivors of the nations! They have no knowledge who carry about their wooden idols, and keep on praying to a god that cannot save.

The inhabitants of Samaria tremble for the calf of Beth-aven. Its people mourn for it, and so do its idolatrous priests— those who rejoiced over it and over its glory— for it has departed from them.The thing itself shall be carried to Assyria as tribute to the great king. Ephraim shall be put to shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his idol.

And they took the bull that was given them, and they prepared it and called upon the name of Baal from morning until noon, saying,“ O Baal, answer us!” But there was no voice, and no one answered. In that day mankind will cast away their idols of silver and their idols of gold, which they made for themselves to worship, to the moles and to the bats,

For, because you trusted in your works and your treasures, you also shall be taken; and Chemosh shall go into exile with his priests and his officials.

therefore the tumult of war shall arise among your people, and all your fortresses shall be destroyed, as Shalman destroyed Beth-arbel on the day of battle; mothers were dashed in pieces with their children.Thus it shall be done to you, O Bethel, because of your great evil. At dawn the king of Israel shall be utterly cut off.

Woe to you, O Moab! The people of Chemosh are undone, for your sons have been taken captive, and your daughters into captivity.

Bel bows down; Nebo stoops; their idols are on beasts and livestock; these things you carry are borne as burdens on weary beasts.They stoop; they bow down together; they cannot save the burden, but themselves go into captivity.

And when the people of Ashdod rose early the next day, behold, Dagon had fallen face downward on the ground before the ark of the Lord. So they took Dagon and put him back in his place.But when they rose early on the next morning, behold, Dagon had fallen face downward on the ground before the ark of the Lord, and the head of Dagon and both his hands were lying cut off on the threshold. Only the trunk of Dagon was left to him.This is why the priests of Dagon and all who enter the house of Dagon do not tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod to this day.The hand of the Lord was heavy against the people of Ashdod, and he terrified and afflicted them with tumors, both Ashdod and its territory.And when the men of Ashdod saw how things were, they said,“ The ark of the God of Israel must not remain with us, for his hand is hard against us and against Dagon our god.”

So the king took counsel and made two calves of gold. And he said to the people,“ You have gone up to Jerusalem long enough. Behold your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.”And he set one in Bethel, and the other he put in Dan.
