Then Moab will be ashamed of Chemosh, as Israel was ashamed when they trusted in Bethel.

Then Moab’s people will be ashamed of their god named Chemosh. They will be ashamed just as the people of Israel were when they trusted in their false god at Bethel.

Then Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel, their confidence.

At last Moab will be ashamed of his idol Chemosh, as the people of Israel were ashamed of their gold calf at Bethel.

And Moab will be ashamed of Chemosh, just as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel, their confidence.

Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, As the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel, their confidence.

And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Beth- el their confidence.

Moab will be put to shame because of Chemosh, just as the house of Israel was put to shame because of Bethel that they trusted in.

The people of Moab will be disappointed by their god Chemosh. They will be as disappointed as the people of Israel were when they put their trust in the calf god at Bethel.

Isn’t it true that you can have whatever your god Chemosh conquers for you, and we can have whatever the LORD our God conquers for us?

“ How broken it is! They wail! How Moab has turned his back! He is ashamed. Moab will become a laughingstock and a shock to all those around him.”

Your calf-idol is rejected, Samaria. My anger burns against them. How long will they be incapable of innocence?For this thing is from Israel— a craftsman made it, and it is not God. The calf of Samaria will be smashed to bits!

All of them are put to shame, even humiliated; the makers of idols go in humiliation together.

At that time, Solomon built a high place for Chemosh, the abhorrent idol of Moab, and for Milcom, the abhorrent idol of the Ammonites, on the hill across from Jerusalem.

When Moab appears and tires himself out on the high place and comes to his sanctuary to pray, it will do him no good.

Do not seek Bethel or go to Gilgal or journey to Beer-sheba, for Gilgal will certainly go into exile, and Bethel will come to nothing.Seek the LORD and live, or he will spread like fire throughout the house of Joseph; it will consume everything with no one at Bethel to extinguish it.

So they took the bull that he gave them, prepared it, and called on the name of Baal from morning until noon, saying,“ Baal, answer us!” But there was no sound; no one answered. On that day people will throw their worthless idols of silver and gold, which they made to worship, to the moles and the bats.

Because you trust in your works and treasures, you will be captured also. Chemosh will go into exile with his priests and officials.

the roar of battle will rise against your people, and all your fortifications will be demolished in a day of war, like Shalman’s destruction of Beth-arbel. Mothers will be dashed to pieces along with their children.So it will be done to you, Bethel, because of your extreme evil. At dawn the king of Israel will be totally destroyed.

Woe to you, Moab! The people of Chemosh have perished because your sons have been taken captive and your daughters have gone into captivity.

Bel crouches; Nebo cowers. Idols depicting them are consigned to beasts and cattle. The images you carry are loaded, as a burden for the weary animal.The gods cower; they crouch together; they are not able to rescue the burden, but they themselves go into captivity.

When the people of Ashdod got up early the next morning, there was Dagon, fallen with his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD. So the king sought advice. Then he made two golden calves, and he said to the people,“ Going to Jerusalem is too difficult for you. Israel, here are your gods who brought you up from the land of Egypt.”He set up one in Bethel, and put the other in Dan.
