But the time is coming when I will send men against Moab who will empty it out. They will empty the towns of their people, then will lay those towns in ruins. I, the LORD, affirm it!

“不过，看啊，时候将到，我要派倒酒的人去把她倒出来，倒空酒缸，把缸打碎。这是耶和华说的。

“看哪！日子快到（这是耶和华的宣告），我必差派倒酒的人到它那里去，把它倒出来，直至倒空，又把酒缸打碎。

『故此你看，日子必到，永恆主發神諭說，我必打發倒酒的往他那裏去，將他倒出；把他的器皿倒到空空，又把他的罈子摔碎。

耶和華曰、時日將至、我必遣司酒者傾之、空其器、毀其缾、

主曰、時日將至、我必遣人來傾之、空其器皿、破其瓶甕、

But days are coming,” declares the Lord,“ when I will send men who pour from pitchers, and they will pour her out; they will empty her pitchers and smash her jars.

But other days are coming,” announces the Lord.“ At that time I will send people who pour wine from pitchers. They will pour Moab out like wine. They will empty its pitchers. They will smash its jars.

“ Therefore, behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I shall send to him pourers who will pour him, and empty his vessels and break his jars in pieces.

But the time is coming soon,” says the Lord,“ when I will send men to pour him from his jar. They will pour him out, then shatter the jar!

Therefore look, the days are coming— this is the LORD’s declaration— when I will send pourers to him, who will pour him out. They will empty his containers and smash his jars.

Therefore behold, the days are coming,” declares the Lord,“ when I will send to him those who tip vessels, and they will tip him over, and they will pour out his vessels and smash his jars.

“ Therefore behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord,“ That I shall send him wine-workers Who will tip him over And empty his vessels And break the bottles.

Therefore, behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that I will send unto him them that pour off, and they shall pour him off; and they shall empty his vessels, and break their bottles in pieces.

Therefore look, the days are coming— this is the Lord’s declaration— when I will send those to him, who will pour him out. They will empty his containers and smash his jars.

Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will send unto him wanderers, that shall cause him to wander, and shall empty his vessels, and break their bottles.

Therefore behold, the days come,” says Yahweh,“ that I will send to him those who pour off, and they will pour him off; and they will empty his vessels, and break their containers in pieces.

So look, I am about to open up Moab’s flank, eliminating the cities, including its frontier cities, the beauty of the land– Beth Jeshimoth, Baal Meon, and Kiriathaim.I will hand it over, along with the Ammonites, to the tribes of the east, so that the Ammonites will no longer be remembered among the nations.

For the LORD will restore the majesty of Jacob, as well as the majesty of Israel, though their enemies have plundered them and have destroyed their fields.

The LORD continued,“ Now break the jar in front of those who have come here with you.

The destroyer will come against every town. Not one town will escape. The towns in the valley will be destroyed. The cities on the high plain will be laid waste. I, the LORD, have spoken!

“ From its earliest days Moab has lived undisturbed. It has never been taken into exile. Its people are like wine allowed to settle undisturbed on its dregs, never poured out from one jar to another. They are like wine which tastes like it always did, whose aroma has remained unchanged.

At the fords of the Arnon the Moabite women are like a bird that flies about when forced from its nest.

It shatters in pieces like a clay jar, so shattered to bits that none of it can be salvaged. Among its fragments one cannot find a shard large enough to scoop a hot coal from a fire or to skim off water from a cistern.”

The leading men of the cities send their servants for water. They go to the cisterns, but they do not find any water there. They return with their containers empty. Disappointed and dismayed, they bury their faces in their hands.

So I, the LORD, affirm that I will send for all the peoples of the north and my servant, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. I will bring them against this land and its inhabitants and all the nations that surround it. I will utterly destroy this land, its inhabitants, and all the nations that surround it and make them everlasting ruins. I will make them objects of horror and hissing scorn.

Wail and cry out in anguish, you rulers! Roll in the dust, you who shepherd flocks of people! The time for you to be slaughtered has come. You will lie scattered and fallen like broken pieces of fine pottery.

On all the housetops in Moab and in all its public squares there will be nothing but mourning. For I will break Moab like an unwanted jar. I, the LORD, affirm it!

Moab will be destroyed. Its towns will be invaded. Its finest young men will be slaughtered. I, the King, the LORD who rules over all, affirm it!

You will break them with an iron scepter; you will smash them like a potter’s jar!’”
