「你要在同去的人眼前打碎那瓶，

行毀滅的必來到各城，並無一城得免。山谷必致敗落，平原必被毀壞；正如耶和華所說的。

摩押自幼年以來常享安逸，如酒在渣滓上澄清，沒有從這器皿倒在那器皿裏，也未曾被擄去。因此，它的原味尚存，香氣未變。

摩押的居民在亞嫩渡口，必像遊飛的鳥，如拆窩的雛。

要被打碎，好像把窰匠的瓦器打碎，毫不顧惜，甚至碎塊中找不到一片可用以從爐內取火，從池中舀水。

他們的貴冑打發家僮打水；他們來到水池，見沒有水，就拿着空器皿，蒙羞慚愧，抱頭而回。

我必召北方的眾族和我僕人巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒來攻擊這地和這地的居民，並四圍一切的國民。我要將他們盡行滅絕，以致他們令人驚駭、嗤笑，並且永久荒涼。這是耶和華說的。

牧人哪，你們當哀號，呼喊；羣眾的頭目啊，你們要滾在灰中；因為你們被殺戮分散的日子足足來到。你們要跌碎，好像美器打碎一樣。

在摩押的各房頂上和街市上處處有人哀哭；因我打碎摩押，好像打碎無人喜悅的器皿。這是耶和華說的。

摩押變為荒場，敵人上去進了她的城邑。她所特選的少年人下去遭了殺戮；這是君王－名為萬軍之耶和華說的。

你必用鐵杖打破他們；你必將他們如同窰匠的瓦器摔碎。
