“ Look! Enemies are gathering in the north like water rising in a river. They will be like an overflowing stream. They will overwhelm the whole country and everything in it like a flood. They will overwhelm the cities and their inhabitants. People will cry out in alarm. Everyone living in the country will cry out in pain.

耶和華云、有水自北方湧出、將成汎濫之河、淹沒斯土、與其所有、及厥城邑居民、眾皆哀哭、境內諸民號咷、

耶和華曰、大河自北至、勢若洪濤、泛濫斯土、諸邑民人、盡遭淹沒、號呼哭泣不已。

主如是云、水自北至、成為漲溢之河、泛濫斯地、淹沒其上所有、淹沒城邑與其居民、人俱號呼、居民哀哭、

This is what the Lord says:“ See how the waters are rising in the north; they will become an overflowing torrent. They will overflow the land and everything in it, the towns and those who live in them. The people will cry out; all who dwell in the land will wail

The snorting of the enemy’s horses is already being heard in the city of Dan. The sound of the neighing of their stallions causes the whole land to tremble with fear. They are coming to destroy the land and everything in it! They are coming to destroy the cities and everyone who lives in them!”

They went up to the temple, the people of Dibon went up to the high places to lament. Because of what happened to Nebo and Medeba, Moab wails. Every head is shaved bare, every beard is trimmed off.In their streets they wear sackcloth; on their roofs and in their town squares all of them wail, they fall down weeping.The people of Heshbon and Elealeh cry out, their voices are heard as far away as Jahaz. For this reason Moab’s soldiers shout in distress; their courage wavers.My heart cries out because of Moab’s plight, and for the fugitives stretched out as far as Zoar and Eglath Shelishiyah. For they weep as they make their way up the ascent of Luhith; they loudly lament their demise on the road to Horonaim.

Then the LORD said,“ This means destruction will break out from the north on all who live in the land.

Let the sky rejoice, and the earth be happy! Let the sea and everything in it shout!

Indeed, the cries of distress echo throughout Moabite territory; their wailing can be heard in Eglaim and Beer Elim.

The LORD owns the earth and all it contains, the world and all who live in it.

In the west, people respect the LORD’s reputation; in the east they recognize his splendor. For he comes like a rushing stream driven on by wind sent from the LORD.

Then the serpent spouted water like a river out of his mouth after the woman in an attempt to sweep her away by a flood,but the earth came to her rescue; the ground opened up and swallowed the river that the dragon had spewed from his mouth.

Oh, how shattered Moab will be! Oh, how her people will wail! Oh, how she will turn away in shame! Moab will become an object of ridicule, a terrifying sight to all the nations that surround her.”

Cries of anguish will arise in Horonaim,‘ Oh, the ruin and great destruction!’“ Moab will be crushed. Her children will cry out in distress.Indeed they will climb the slopes of Luhith, weeping continually as they go. For on the road down to Horonaim they will hear the cries of distress over the destruction.

Let the sea and everything in it shout, along with the world and those who live in it!

Come now, you rich! Weep and cry aloud over the miseries that are coming on you.

But if someone says to you,“ This is from a sacrifice,” do not eat, because of the one who told you and because of conscience–

But with an overwhelming flood he will make a complete end of Nineveh; he will drive his enemies into darkness.

On that day,” says the LORD,“ a loud cry will go up from the Fish Gate, wailing from the city’s newer district, and a loud crash from the hills.Wail, you who live in the market district, for all the merchants will disappear and those who count money will be removed.

Armies will be suddenly swept away in defeat before him; both they and a covenant leader will be destroyed.

Then the angel said to me,“ The waters you saw( where the prostitute is seated) are peoples, multitudes, nations, and languages.

The sovereign LORD who commands armies will do this. He touches the earth and it dissolves; all who live on it mourn. The whole earth rises like the River Nile, and then grows calm like the Nile in Egypt.He builds the upper rooms of his palace in heaven and sets its foundation supports on the earth. He summons the water of the sea and pours it out on the earth’s surface. The LORD is his name.

Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and spoke to me.“ Come,” he said,“ I will show you the condemnation and punishment of the great prostitute who sits on many waters,

I will make justice the measuring line, fairness the plumb line; hail will sweep away the unreliable refuge, the floodwaters will overwhelm the hiding place.

So I say:“ Don’t look at me! I am weeping bitterly. Don’t try to console me concerning the destruction of my defenseless people.”For the sovereign master, the LORD who commands armies, has planned a day of panic, defeat, and confusion. In the Valley of Vision people shout and cry out to the hill.

for the earth and its abundance are the Lord’s.

But even the swiftest cannot get away. Even the strongest cannot escape. There in the north by the Euphrates River they stumble and fall in defeat.“ Who is this that rises like the Nile, like its streams turbulent at flood stage?Egypt rises like the Nile, like its streams turbulent at flood stage.
