仇敵說：「我要追趕，我要趕上；我要分擄物；我要拿住他們，來滿足心願。我要拔出刀來，親手趕滅他們。」但你一吹氣，海就淹沒他們，他們就像鉛沉沒於壯闊水中。

你假手於你的臣僕來辱罵永恆主；你並且說：「我用我眾多的車輛；我上了山嶺的高峰，我到利巴嫩的極深處；我砍伐它高大的香柏樹，上好的松樹；我進到極遠的高處，園地般的森林。是我挖了井，喝了水；我用腳掌踏乾埃及的眾河流。」』永恆主說：『你豈沒有聽見從遠古我就制定，在古日我就計畫，到現在我就作成，使有堡壘的城荒廢，變為倒壞的亂堆？

『人子啊，你要為埃及王舉哀唱歌，對他說：『列國中的少壯獅子啊，你可完啦！你，你像海中的鱷魚；卻在你的江河裏衝激着，用你的腳攪濁了水，踹渾了眾水的江河。

來傳講說：主永恆主這麼說：『看哪，埃及王法老啊，我跟你為敵，你這棲伏於自己河中的大鱷魚；你曾經說：「我這河是我自己的；我造了它。」
