敵人說，『追啊，追上他們，瓜分他們的財物，盡情地擄掠他們，拔出刀來把他們斬盡殺絕。』你叫風一吹，海水就淹沒他們，他們好像鉛塊一樣沉沒在怒海中。

你藉你的使者侮辱主。你說你帶著許多戰車上到群山之巔，上到黎巴嫩的巔峰，砍下最高的香柏樹和上好的松樹，征服最高的山和最美的樹林。你說你已在外邦之地挖井喝水，已用腳掌踏乾埃及的河流。「『難道你不知這是我在遠古所定的嗎？如今我要實現我昔日所定的計劃，就是藉著你使堅城淪為廢墟。

「人子啊，你要為埃及王法老唱哀歌，對他說，『你自認為是列邦中的雄獅，其實你像激蕩江河、用腳把江河攪渾的海怪。

你要告訴他，主耶和華這樣說，『埃及王法老啊，你這躺臥在自己河中的大怪物，我要與你為敵。你說這尼羅河屬於你，是你為自己造的。
