怎麼啦！我看見他們都驚慌，轉身退後呀！他們的勇士被擊敗了，倉倉皇皇逃跑，並不回頭呀！四圍盡是恐怖！永恆主發神諭說。

耶和華曰、我奚見此哉、彼眾驚而卻退、勇士敗潰、急遁不顧其後、四周惶恐、

耶和華曰、我觀其喪膽敗北、四周畏懼、武士戰北、逃遁維速、不顧其後。

主曰、我觀其喪膽退後、勇士潰敗、急於奔逃、並不回顧、四望驚惶、何故也、

What do I see? They are terrified, they are retreating, their warriors are defeated. They flee in haste without looking back, and there is terror on every side,” declares the Lord.

其中的雇勇好像圈里的肥牛犊，他们转身退后，一齐逃跑，站立不住；因为他们遭难的日子、追讨的时候已经临到。

尼尼微自古以来充满人民，如同聚水的池子；现在居民却都逃跑。虽有人呼喊说：“站住！站住！”却无人回顾。

我听见了许多人的谗谤，四围都是惊吓；就是我知己的朋友也都窥探我，愿我跌倒，说：“告他吧，我们也要告他！或者他被引诱，我们就能胜他，在他身上报仇。”

因为主使亚兰人的军队听见车马的声音，是大军的声音；他们就彼此说：“这必是以色列王贿买赫人的诸王和埃及人的诸王来攻击我们。”所以，在黄昏的时候他们起来逃跑，撇下帐棚、马、驴，营盘照旧，只顾逃命。

你的壮士为何被冲去呢？他们站立不住；因为耶和华驱逐他们，

我在许多国民和君王面前向你抡我的刀，国民就必因你惊奇，君王也必因你极其恐慌。在你仆倒的日子，他们各人为自己的性命时刻战兢。”

领他们出来以后，就说：“逃命吧！不可回头看，也不可在平原站住。要往山上逃跑，免得你被剿灭。”

地上的君王、臣宰、将军、富户、壮士，和一切为奴的、自主的，都藏在山洞和岩石穴里，向山和岩石说：“倒在我们身上吧！把我们藏起来，躲避坐宝座者的面目和羔羊的忿怒；因为他们忿怒的大日到了，谁能站得住呢？”

到那日，埃及人必像妇人一样，他们必因万军之耶和华在埃及以上所抡的手，战兢惧怕。

次日，巴施户珥将耶利米开枷释放。于是耶利米对他说：“耶和华不是叫你的名为巴施户珥，乃是叫你玛歌珥米撒毕，因耶和华如此说：‘我必使你自觉惊吓，你也必使众朋友惊吓；他们必倒在仇敌的刀下，你也必亲眼看见；我必将犹大人全交在巴比伦王的手中，他要将他们掳到巴比伦去，也要用刀将他们杀戮。
