I will give them into the hands of those who want to kill them— Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and his officers. Later, however, Egypt will be inhabited as in times past,” declares the Lord.

因為主永恆主這麼說：巴比倫王的刀必攻擊你。

『故此永恆主這麼說：看吧，我必使刀劍來攻擊你，將人和牲口都從你中間剪除掉；埃及地就變成了淒涼荒廢了。他們就知道我乃是永恆主。『因為你說：「這河是我的，是我造的」；那麼你就看吧，我跟你為敵，跟你的河為敵；我必使埃及地、從密奪到色弗尼、直到古實邊界、全然荒廢淒涼。必沒有人的腳從那裏經過，也沒有獸的蹄從那裏過去；並沒有人居住、四十年。我必使埃及地在荒涼的列邦中成為荒涼，使埃及城在荒廢的城市中變成了荒涼、四十年；我必使埃及人分散在於列國，使他們四散於列邦。『主永恆主這麼說：四十年終了以後、我必將埃及人從他們所分散到的外族之民中招集回去。我必恢復埃及人的故業，使他們返回他們的本地、他們根原之地、巴忒羅；在那裏他們必成為低微之國；

但日後我還要恢復摩押的故業：永恆主發神諭說。摩押受判罰的話到這兒為止。
