I will give them into the hands of those who want to kill them— Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and his officers. Later, however, Egypt will be inhabited as in times past,” declares the Lord.

故主天主如是云、我必使鋒刃臨於爾、自爾中翦滅人與畜、伊及王自言此河屬我、為我所造、故伊及地必荒蕪、變為沙漠、彼則知我乃主、我必降罰於爾、及爾諸河、使伊及地盡成荒墟、變為沙漠、自密奪密奪又作密革奪下同至敘以尼、以及古實交界之地、人足不經於其中、獸蹏不過於其中、並無民居處、歷四十年、我必使伊及地荒蕪、與他地荒蕪無異、使伊及諸邑傾圮、與他邦之邑傾圮無異、歷四十年、我將伊及人散於列邦、播於各地、主天主如是云、歷四十年後、伊及民散於列邦、我必集之、使出於彼、必返伊及民之俘囚、或作必使伊及復振興使歸巴忒羅地、即其故土、在彼為卑弱之國、
