The Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says:“ I am about to bring punishment on Amon god of Thebes, on Pharaoh, on Egypt and her gods and her kings, and on those who rely on Pharaoh.

The Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, said:“ Behold, I am bringing punishment upon Amon of Thebes, and Pharaoh and Egypt and her gods and her kings, upon Pharaoh and those who trust in him.

The Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says:“ I will punish Amon, the god of Thebes, and all the other gods of Egypt. I will punish its rulers and Pharaoh, too, and all who trust in him.

非要去埃及住，以為那裡沒有戰爭，聽不見號角聲，也不會忍饑挨餓，那麼，你們這些猶大的餘民就要聽聽耶和華的話。以色列的上帝——萬軍之耶和華說，『如果你們決意去埃及住，你們所害怕的戰爭和饑荒必緊緊地跟著你們。你們必死在埃及。

你能強過底比斯嗎？底比斯位於尼羅河上，四面環水，水是她的屏障，又是她的城牆。古實和埃及是她無窮的力量，弗人和利比亞人是她的幫手。

我要火燒安居在瑪各和海島的人，他們就知道我是耶和華。「『我要讓我的以色列子民知道我的聖名，不再讓我的聖名被褻瀆。這樣列國就知道我是耶和華——以色列的聖者。

「『我把你滅亡的消息帶到你不認識的列邦時，必使許多人惶恐不安。我在他們面前揮刀攻擊你的時候，各國的人都必因你而驚駭，他們的君王必膽戰心驚。在你傾覆那天，他們都必時刻為自己的性命戰戰兢兢。』「主耶和華這樣說，『巴比倫王的刀必來攻擊你。我要使你的人民喪身在各國中最殘暴的勇士刀下。他們必摧毀埃及的驕傲，消滅她的人民。

他們不求問我便去埃及，想得到法老的保護和蔭庇。然而，法老的保護和蔭庇必成為他們的恥辱。

「主耶和華說，『我要毀滅偶像，剷除挪弗的神像。埃及再沒有君王，國內到處充滿恐懼。我要使巴特羅荒廢，放火焚燒瑣安，審判底比斯，把我的烈怒傾倒在埃及的堡壘——訓，消滅底比斯的百姓。我要放火燒埃及，訓要受痛苦的折磨，底比斯要被攻破，挪弗終日惶恐不已，

以下是關於埃及的預言：看啊，耶和華駕著疾馳的雲來到埃及。埃及的偶像在祂面前顫抖，埃及人膽戰心驚。

那些到埃及尋求幫助的人有禍了！他們仰賴戰馬，倚靠眾多的戰車和強壯的騎兵，卻不仰望以色列的聖者，不尋求耶和華。然而，耶和華有智慧，會降災，從不收回自己的話。祂必懲罰惡人之家及其幫兇。埃及人不過是人，並非上帝；埃及的戰馬是血肉之軀，並非神靈。耶和華一伸手，那些幫兇必踉蹌，受幫助的必跌倒，他們必一同滅亡。

耶和華說：「信靠世人、倚靠血肉之軀、背叛耶和華的人該受咒詛！這樣的人毫無福樂，像沙漠中的灌木。他要住在曠野中乾旱無人的鹽鹼地。
