永恆主發神諭說：埃及的森林雖茂密難測，敵人卻要把它割下；因為他們多於蝗蟲，簡直無數。

They will chop down her forest,” declares the Lord,“ dense though it be. They are more numerous than locusts, they cannot be counted.

The population of Egypt is like a vast, impenetrable forest. But I, the LORD, affirm that the enemy will cut them down. For those who chop them down will be more numerous than locusts. They will be too numerous to count.

因為那些人總帶着他們的牲畜和帳棚上來，來得像蝗蟲那麼多，人和駱駝無數，都進境內、來損毁它。

我所打發到你們中間去的、我的大軍隊、蝗蟲、蝻子、螞蚱、剪蟲、所喫盡的那些年頭的收成、我必補還給你們。

他開了那無底坑，就有煙從坑裏往上冒，像大火爐的煙；日頭和空氣都因坑裏的煙而變了黑暗。有蝗蟲從煙裏出來，到了地上；有權柄給了牠們，像地上的蠍子有權柄一樣。又有話吩咐牠們別傷害地上的草、或各樣青物、各樣樹木，惟獨要傷害人、那沒有上帝印記在額上的人。蝗蟲卻沒有得權柄可以殺戮他們，只要叫他們受苦痛五個月；他們的苦痛就像蠍子螫人時所引起的苦痛一樣。當那些日子、人必求死，決尋不着死；人必切願要死，死卻逃避他們。蝗蟲的形狀彷彿是馬豫備好了要出戰一樣。牠們頭上戴的像華冠、彷彿是金的；他們的臉面像人的臉面；牠們有頭髮像女人的頭髮；牠們的牙像獅子的牙；牠們有胸甲像鐵的胸甲，牠們翅膀的響聲像許多車馬奔跑出戰的響聲。牠們有尾巴彷彿是蠍子，又有毒刺；牠們那傷害人五個月的權柄就在於牠們的尾巴。

『人子啊，你要把臉朝着南邊的路向，向南滴下話語，傳神言攻擊南地田野的森林，

又把他的樹林和園地之華美連魂帶體全都滅盡，他就像熔化之物之熔化一樣。
