The mercenaries in her ranks are like fattened calves. They too will turn and flee together, they will not stand their ground, for the day of disaster is coming upon them, the time for them to be punished.

Hired soldiers are in Egypt’s army. They are like fat calves. All of them will turn and run away. They will not hold their positions. The day of trouble is coming on them. The time for them to be punished is near.

Even her hired soldiers in her midst are like fattened calves; yes, they have turned and fled together; they did not stand, for the day of their calamity has come upon them, the time of their punishment.

Egypt’s mercenaries have become like fattened calves. They, too, will turn and run, for it is a day of great disaster for Egypt, a time of great punishment.

蓋主曾使亞蘭人聞車騎之聲、若全軍忽至、則相語曰、以色列王、以金饋赫人埃及人列王、俱來攻我、

耶和華曰、我觀其喪膽敗北、四周畏懼、武士戰北、逃遁維速、不顧其後。

我民遘難、所遭孔迫、爾奚可入其邑門、彼罹災害、爾奚可攘其貨財、

主鑒惡人、知患難之將至、而哂之兮、

降災罰惡、其日已屆、以色列族必知之、因犯罪惡、蓄怨不已、故彼冒為先知、佯托感神、卒見愚蠢、而發狂疾、

殺壯士若屠牛、降災之日既至、其禍不遠、我上帝耶和華為殿宇雪忿、人自巴比倫逃於郇邑、備述斯事、咸聞其語。

亞捫族知大闢憾己、如惡惡臭、遣人至伯哩合、及鎖巴、借亞蘭人步卒二萬、至馬迦王、借兵一千、又至奪地、借兵一萬二千。

寢於象牙之榻、卧於棲息之床、羔則取之於群、犢則執之於牢、供其饜飫、

彼所為善者、等諸蒺藜、彼所為義者、同於荊棘、先知所言之災、其日伊邇、庶民潰亂、

野兕牛犢、俱必喪亡、於是血流膏潰、遍潤其地、土壤因以膏腴、

與仇敵而食肥犢、不如對良朋而茹菜蔬。

我使斯民為敵人所驅逐、若風吹草芥、臨難之時、予不眷顧。

待主降罰、使遠邦之人橫加侵伐、爾將何為、求救於何人、藏寶於何地。

維爾武士、駕車乘馬、馳驟而至、古實人、弗人、俱執干戈、路得人、善挽強弓。

昔迦勒底人殲滅我民、欣喜不勝、身肥體胖、若牛得蒭、若馬長嘶。

爾之有能者、為我耶和華所驅、不能禦敵、俱遭淹沒。群眾傾覆、自相蹂躪、曰、莫若旋師返國、不遭強者殺戮、

以色列族、爾素所銜憾、彼受刑罰、遭患難、其日既屆、爾則加以鋒刃、戮其民人、

巴西路得、弗人、在爾行伍、為爾武士、於爾邑中、列其干戈、懸其兜鍪、使爾顯榮、亞發人為軍旅、守城垣、迦末人守爾戍樓、四周列干、以揚爾威、

鋒刃臨於埃及、患難至於古實、址基既毀、億兆被戮、遺民見擄、古實、呂彼亞、呂氐亞與異邦族類、及古巴之民、同盟之輩、俱亡以刃、耶和華曰、必折埃及驕泰之心、自蜜奪至敘以尼、俱亡以刃、助埃及者亦必敗北、我耶和華已言之矣。

耶書崙體胖、桀驁不馴、肥而多脂、上帝造之、彼反違逆、上帝拯之、彼反藐視。
