牠中間雇傭的兵也像圈裏養肥的牛犢；因為就在他們遭遇災難的日子、受察罰關頭臨到他們身上時，他們也竟轉身、一齊逃跑，沒有站住。

其中僱卒、猶闌中之犢、咸卻退遁逃、而不堅立、因其患難之日、受罰之時至矣、

彼以金募壯士、俱若肥牛、災害既臨、敗北而遁、不能禦敵。

其中募卒、亦若肥犢、災害之日既至、患難之時既臨、則咸轉身而遁、不立而禦敵、

The mercenaries in her ranks are like fattened calves. They too will turn and flee together, they will not stand their ground, for the day of disaster is coming upon them, the time for them to be punished.

Hired soldiers are in Egypt’s army. They are like fat calves. All of them will turn and run away. They will not hold their positions. The day of trouble is coming on them. The time for them to be punished is near.

Even her hired soldiers in her midst are like fattened calves; yes, they have turned and fled together; they did not stand, for the day of their calamity has come upon them, the time of their punishment.

Egypt’s mercenaries have become like fattened calves. They, too, will turn and run, for it is a day of great disaster for Egypt, a time of great punishment.

Even her mercenaries among her are like stall-fed calves. They too will turn back; together they will flee; they will not take their stand, for the day of their calamity is coming on them, the time of their punishment.

Also her mercenaries in her midst Are like fattened calves, For they too have turned away and have fled together; They did not stand their ground. For the day of their disaster has come upon them, The time of their punishment.

因為主使亞蘭人的軍隊聽見車馬的聲音，是大軍的聲音；他們就彼此說：「這必是以色列王賄買赫人的諸王和埃及人的諸王來攻擊我們。」

我為何看見他們驚惶轉身退後呢？他們的勇士打敗了，急忙逃跑，並不回頭；驚嚇四圍都有！這是耶和華說的。

我民遭災的日子，你不當進他們的城門；他們遭災的日子，你不當瞪眼看着他們受苦；他們遭災的日子，你不當伸手搶他們的財物；

主要笑他，因見他受罰的日子將要來到。

以色列人必知道降罰的日子臨近，報應的時候來到。民說：作先知的是愚昧；受靈感的是狂妄，皆因他們多多作孽，大懷怨恨。

要殺她的一切牛犢，使他們下去遭遇殺戮。他們有禍了，因為追討他們的日子已經來到。（

亞捫人知道大衛憎惡他們，就打發人去，招募伯‧利合的亞蘭人和瑣巴的亞蘭人，步兵二萬，與瑪迦王的人一千、陀伯人一萬二千。

你們躺臥在象牙牀上，舒身在榻上，吃羣中的羊羔，棚裏的牛犢；

他們最好的，不過是蒺藜；最正直的，不過是荊棘籬笆。你守望者說，降罰的日子已經來到。他們必擾亂不安。

野牛、牛犢，和公牛要一同下來。他們的地喝醉了血；他們的塵土因脂油肥潤。

吃素菜，彼此相愛，強如吃肥牛，彼此相恨。

我必在仇敵面前分散他們，好像用東風吹散一樣。遭難的日子，我必以背向他們，不以面向他們。

到降罰的日子，有災禍從遠方臨到，那時，你們怎樣行呢？你們向誰逃奔求救呢？你們的榮耀存留何處呢？

馬匹上去吧！車輛急行吧！勇士，就是手拿盾牌的古實人和弗人，並拉弓的路德族，都出去吧！

搶奪我產業的啊，你們因歡喜快樂，且像踹穀撒歡的母牛犢，又像發嘶聲的壯馬。

你的壯士為何被沖去呢？他們站立不住；因為耶和華驅逐他們，使多人絆跌；他們也彼此撞倒，說：起來吧！我們再往本民本地去，好躲避欺壓的刀劍。

因為你永懷仇恨，在以色列人遭災、罪孽到了盡頭的時候，將他們交與刀劍，

「波斯人、路德人、弗人在你軍營中作戰士；他們在你中間懸掛盾牌和頭盔，彰顯你的尊榮。亞發人和你的軍隊都在你四圍的牆上，你的望樓也有勇士；他們懸掛盾牌，成全你的美麗。

必有刀劍臨到埃及；在埃及被殺之人仆倒的時候，古實人就有痛苦，人民必被擄掠，基址必被拆毀。古實人、弗人、路德人、雜族的人民，並古巴人，以及同盟之地的人都要與埃及人一同倒在刀下。」耶和華如此說：扶助埃及的也必傾倒。埃及因勢力而有的驕傲必降低微；其中的人民，從色弗尼塔起必倒在刀下。這是主耶和華說的。

但耶書崙漸漸肥胖，粗壯，光潤，踢跳，奔跑，便離棄造他的神，輕看救他的磐石；
