彼以金募壯士、俱若肥牛、災害既臨、敗北而遁、不能禦敵。

其中募卒、亦若肥犢、災害之日既至、患難之時既臨、則咸轉身而遁、不立而禦敵、

The mercenaries in her ranks are like fattened calves. They too will turn and flee together, they will not stand their ground, for the day of disaster is coming upon them, the time for them to be punished.

Hired soldiers are in Egypt’s army. They are like fat calves. All of them will turn and run away. They will not hold their positions. The day of trouble is coming on them. The time for them to be punished is near.

Even her hired soldiers in her midst are like fattened calves; yes, they have turned and fled together; they did not stand, for the day of their calamity has come upon them, the time of their punishment.

Egypt’s mercenaries have become like fattened calves. They, too, will turn and run, for it is a day of great disaster for Egypt, a time of great punishment.

Even her mercenaries among her are like stall-fed calves. They too will turn back; together they will flee; they will not take their stand, for the day of their calamity is coming on them, the time of their punishment.

Also her mercenaries in her midst Are like fattened calves, For they too have turned away and have fled together; They did not stand their ground. For the day of their disaster has come upon them, The time of their punishment.

因为主使亚兰人的军队听见战车、战马和大军的声音；他们就彼此说：“看哪，一定是以色列王雇用了赫人的众王和埃及人的众王来攻击我们。”

我子民遭灾的日子，你不该进入他们的城门；他们遭灾的日子，你不该看着他们受苦；他们遭灾的日子，你不该抢夺他们的财物。

但主必笑他，因为知道他遭报的日子快要来到。

惩罚的日子临近，报应的时候来到，以色列必定知道，因着你们众多的罪孽和深仇大恨，先知被看为愚昧，受灵感动的人被当作疯子。

要击杀它所有的公牛，使他们下去被屠杀！他们有祸了！因为他们的日子，就是他们受惩罚的时候，来到了。

亚扪人知道大卫憎恶他们，就派人去招募伯‧利合的亚兰人和琐巴的亚兰人，步兵二万，玛迦王的人一千，陀伯人一万二千。

你们卧在象牙床上，躺在榻上；你们吃羊群中的羊羔，和牛棚里的牛犊。

他们中最好的，也不过像荆棘，最正直的，也不过是有刺的篱笆。你的守望者所预言的日子，和你被鉴察的时候，已经来到；现在他们必要慌乱不安。

野牛、牛犊与壮牛要与他们一同倒下，他们的地喝足了血，他们的尘土因脂肪而肥润。

吃素菜而彼此相爱，胜过吃肥牛却彼此憎恨。

在他们的敌人面前，我要像东风吹散他们；在他们遭难的日子，我必使他们只见我的背，不见我的面。”

到降罚的日子，有灾祸从远方来到，那时你们要怎样行呢？你们可以向谁逃奔求助呢？你们可以把你们的财宝撇在哪里呢？

马匹啊，上前吧！战车啊，狂奔吧！勇士啊，就是紧握盾牌的古实人和弗人，以及拉弓的吕底亚人哪，上阵吧！

“抢夺我产业的啊！你们虽然欢喜快乐，像踹谷的母牛犊跳跃，像雄壮的马嘶叫；

你的壮士为什么俯伏？他们站立不住（“你的壮士为什么俯伏？他们站立不住”或可参照《七十士译本》译作“为什么亚比士神逃跑？你的牛神站立不住”），是因耶和华把他们推倒了。他使众人绊跌，倒在一起；他们说：‘起来！我们要回到我们本族，和我们出生之地那里去，躲避欺压者的刀剑。’

因为你永远怀恨，在以色列人遭遇灾难，刑罚到了顶点的时候，你把他们交在刀剑之下，

波斯人、路德人、弗人都在你的军队中作战士；他们在你那里挂起盾牌和头盔，彰显你的光荣。在你四围的城墙上有亚发人和赫勒克人（“赫勒克人”或译：“你的军兵”）；在你的城楼上有歌玛底人（“歌玛底人”或译：“勇士”）。他们把自己的盾牌挂在你四围的城墙上，使你全然美丽。

必有刀剑临到埃及，被杀的人倒在埃及的时候，在古实就有痛苦；埃及的财富必被夺去，它的根基必被拆毁。古实人、弗人、路德人、所有外族的人、吕彼亚（“吕彼亚”原文作“古巴”）人，以及与埃及结盟的人，都必与埃及人一起倒在刀下。“‘耶和华这样说：那些支持埃及的必倾倒，埃及所夸耀的势力必衰落。从密夺到色弗尼，他们都必倒在刀下；这是主耶和华说的：

但耶书仑肥胖了，就踢跳，‘你肥胖了，你粗壮了，你饱满了，’他离弃了造他的神，轻看了救他的磐石。
