“ Announce this in Egypt, and proclaim it in Migdol; proclaim it also in Memphis and Tahpanhes:‘ Take your positions and get ready, for the sword devours those around you.’

“ Set up the buckler and shield, And advance to the battle!Harness the horses, And mount the steeds, Take your stand with helmets on! Polish the spears, Put on the coats of armor!

Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying,“ Take some large stones in your hands and hide them in the mortar in the brick terrace which is at the entrance of Pharaoh’s palace in Tahpanhes, in the sight of some of the Jews;

“ Behold, I am against you,” declares the Lord of armies.“ I will burn up her chariots in smoke, and a sword will devour your young lions; I will eliminate your prey from the land, and no longer will the voice of your messengers be heard.”
