當告埃及人、播揚斯言於蜜奪、挪弗、答比匿、云、當預為備、屹立不動、四周之民、亡於鋒刃。

當宣告於伊及、播揚於密奪、密奪又作密革奪傳示於挪弗、答比匿云、當為備屹立、因爾之四周、有鋒刃殺戮、

“ Announce this in Egypt, and proclaim it in Migdol; proclaim it also in Memphis and Tahpanhes:‘ Take your positions and get ready, for the sword devours those around you.’

“ Egyptians, here is what I want you to announce in your land. Announce it in the city of Migdol. Also announce it in Memphis and Tahpanhes. Say,‘ Take up your battle positions! Get ready! The sword eats up those around you.’

“ Declare in Egypt, and proclaim in Migdol; proclaim in Memphis and Tahpanhes; say,‘ Stand ready and be prepared, for the sword shall devour around you.’

“ Shout it out in Egypt! Publish it in the cities of Migdol, Memphis, and Tahpanhes! Mobilize for battle, for the sword will devour everyone around you.

Announce it in Egypt, and proclaim it in Migdol! Proclaim it in Memphis and in Tahpanhes! Say,“ Take positions! Prepare yourself, for the sword devours all around you.”

“ Declare in Egypt, publish in Migdol, and publish in Memphis and in Tahpanhes: say,‘ Stand up, and prepare; for the sword has devoured around you.’

For this[ is] the day of the Lord GOD of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood: for the Lord GOD of hosts hath a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.

The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews which dwell in the land of Egypt, which dwell at Migdol, and at Tahpanhes, and at Noph, and in the country of Pathros, saying,

But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken[ it].

Order ye the buckler and shield, and draw near to battle.Harness the horses; and get up, ye horsemen, and stand forth with[ your] helmets; furbish the spears,[ and] put on the brigandines.

Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying,Take great stones in thine hand, and hide them in the clay in the brickkiln, which[ is] at the entry of Pharaoh’s house in Tahpanhes, in the sight of the men of Judah;

Behold, I[ am] against thee, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions: and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.

In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction: your own sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.

O ye children of Benjamin, gather yourselves to flee out of the midst of Jerusalem, and blow the trumpet in Tekoa, and set up a sign of fire in Bethhaccerem: for evil appeareth out of the north, and great destruction.I have likened the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate[ woman].The shepherds with their flocks shall come unto her; they shall pitch[ their] tents against her round about; they shall feed every one in his place.Prepare ye war against her; arise, and let us go up at noon. Woe unto us! for the day goeth away, for the shadows of the evening are stretched out.Arise, and let us go by night, and let us destroy her palaces.

Then Abner called to Joab, and said, Shall the sword devour for ever? knowest thou not that it will be bitterness in the latter end? how long shall it be then, ere thou bid the people return from following their brethren?

The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness,[ and] with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea.

And I will set fire in Egypt: Sin shall have great pain, and No shall be rent asunder, and Noph[ shall have] distresses daily.The young men of Aven and of Pibeseth shall fall by the sword: and these[ cities] shall go into captivity.At Tehaphnehes also the day shall be darkened, when I shall break there the yokes of Egypt: and the pomp of her strength shall cease in her: as for her, a cloud shall cover her, and her daughters shall go into captivity.

Speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, over against Baalzephon: before it shall ye encamp by the sea.

The spoilers are come upon all high places through the wilderness: for the sword of the LORD shall devour from the[ one] end of the land even to the[ other] end of the land: no flesh shall have peace.

Then shall the Assyrian fall with the sword, not of a mighty man; and the sword, not of a mean man, shall devour him: but he shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall be discomfited.
