先知曰、今日萬有之主耶和華降災於敵、雪其夙忿、使之被戮於鋒刃、飲血若醉、蓋萬有之主耶和華在於北方、百辣河濱、大行誅殛。

此日也、乃主萬有之天主復仇之日、復仇於敵、使刃食而得飽、飲血若醉、蓋主萬有之天主、在北方伯拉河濱、大行誅戮、

I will make my arrows drunk with blood while my sword devours flesh— the blood of the slain and the captives, the heads of the enemy leaders.”

The swift cannot flee, and the warrior cannot escape! In the north by the bank of the Euphrates River, they stumble and fall.

Wail! For the day of the LORD is near. It will come as destruction from the Almighty.

Now the king of Egypt did not march out of his land again, for the king of Babylon took everything that had belonged to the king of Egypt, from the Brook of Egypt to the Euphrates River.

Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he called out in a loud voice, saying to all the birds flying high overhead,“ Come, gather together for the great supper of God,so that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of military commanders, the flesh of the mighty, the flesh of horses and of their riders, and the flesh of everyone, both free and slave, small and great.”Then I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies gathered together to wage war against the rider on the horse and against his army.But the beast was taken prisoner, and along with it the false prophet, who had performed the signs in its presence. Both of them were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur.The rest were killed with the sword that came from the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds ate their fill of their flesh.

The great day of the LORD is near, near and rapidly approaching. Listen, the day of the LORD— then the warrior’s cry is bitter.That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of destruction and desolation, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and total darkness,

Be silent in the presence of the Lord GOD, for the day of the LORD is near. Indeed, the LORD has prepared a sacrifice; he has consecrated his guests.On the day of the LORD’s sacrifice I will punish the officials, the king’s sons, and all who are dressed in foreign clothing.

Blow the ram’s horn in Zion; sound the alarm on my holy mountain! Let all the residents of the land tremble, for the day of the LORD is coming; in fact, it is near—

For I planned the day of vengeance, and the year of my redemption came.

to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor, and the day of our God’s vengeance; to comfort all who mourn,

“ Son of man, this is what the Lord GOD says: Tell every kind of bird and all the wild animals,‘ Assemble and come! Gather from all around to my sacrificial feast that I am slaughtering for you, a great feast on the mountains of Israel; you will eat flesh and drink blood.You will eat the flesh of mighty men and drink the blood of the earth’s princes: rams, lambs, male goats, and all the fattened bulls of Bashan.You will eat fat until you are satisfied and drink blood until you are drunk, at my sacrificial feast that I have prepared for you.At my table you will eat your fill of horses and riders, of mighty men and all the warriors. This is the declaration of the Lord GOD.’“ I will display my glory among the nations, and all the nations will see the judgment I have executed and the hand I have laid on them.

because these are days of vengeance to fulfill all the things that are written.

When my sword has drunk its fill in the heavens, it will then come down on Edom and on the people I have set apart for destruction.The LORD’s sword is covered with blood. It drips with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams. For the LORD has a sacrifice in Bozrah, a great slaughter in the land of Edom.The wild oxen will be struck down with them, and young bulls with the mighty bulls. Their land will be soaked with blood, and their soil will be saturated with fat.For the LORD has a day of vengeance, a time of paying back Edom for its hostility against Zion.

Leave Babylon; save your lives, each of you! Don’t perish because of her guilt. For this is the time of the LORD’s vengeance— he will pay her what she deserves.

Raise a war cry against her on every side! She has thrown up her hands in surrender; her defense towers have fallen; her walls are demolished. Since this is the LORD’s vengeance, take your vengeance on her; as she has done, do the same to her.
