But that day belongs to the Lord, the Lord Almighty— a day of vengeance, for vengeance on his foes. The sword will devour till it is satisfied, till it has quenched its thirst with blood. For the Lord, the Lord Almighty, will offer sacrifice in the land of the north by the River Euphrates.

But that day belongs to me. I am the Lord who rules over all. It is a day for me to pay back my enemies. My sword will eat until it is satisfied. It will drink until it is not thirsty for blood anymore. I am the Lord. I am the Lord who rules over all. I will offer a sacrifice. I will offer it in the land of the north by the Euphrates River.

That day is the day of the Lord God of hosts, a day of vengeance, to avenge himself on his foes. The sword shall devour and be sated and drink its fill of their blood. For the Lord God of hosts holds a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.

For this is the day of the Lord, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, a day of vengeance on his enemies. The sword will devour until it is satisfied, yes, until it is drunk with your blood! The Lord, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, will receive a sacrifice today in the north country beside the Euphrates River.

哀哉那日！因为耶和华的日子临近了；那日来到，好像毁灭从全能者临到一样。

我要使我的箭饮血饮醉，就是被杀的人和被掳的人的血；我的刀剑要吃肉，就是吃仇敌长发首领的肉。’

以下的话是关于埃及，论到埃及王法老尼哥的军队，这军队在犹大王约西亚的儿子约雅敬第四年，被巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒在靠近幼发拉底河的迦基米施击败。

“快跑的跑不掉，勇士也不能逃脱；他们在北方、在幼发拉底河边，都绊跌仆倒。

哀号吧！因为耶和华的日子近了，这日子来到，好像毁灭从全能者那里来到一样。

埃及王不再从本国出征，因为巴比伦王占据了所有从前属于埃及王的领土，从埃及小河直到幼发拉底河。

我又看见一位天使站在太阳中，向高空所有的飞鸟大声呼喊说：“你们来吧！齐集起来赴神的大筵席！可以吃君王的肉、将领的肉、壮士的肉，马和骑士的肉，以及自由的、作奴隶的、大的、小的，所有人的肉。”我看见那兽和地上的众王，以及他们的众军，都集合起来，要跟那骑白马的和他的众军作战。那兽被捉住了；连同在兽面前用奇事迷惑人，使他们接受兽的记号，并且拜兽像的那假先知，也一起被捉住了。他们两个就活活地被抛在烧着硫磺的火湖里去。其余的人都被那位骑白马的口中所吐出来的剑杀了。所有飞鸟都吃饱了他们的肉。

耶和华的大日子临近了，临近了，来得非常快速。听！耶和华的日子的声音。在那日，勇士要哀痛地号叫。那日是忿怒的日子，是困苦艰难的日子，是荒废凄凉的日子，是黑暗幽冥的日子，是密云漆黑的日子，

你要在主耶和华面前肃静！因为耶和华的日子临近了，因为耶和华已经预备了祭物，把自己所请来的人分别为圣。“到了我耶和华献祭的日子，我必惩罚首领和王子，惩罚所有穿外族衣服的人。

你们要在锡安吹号，并在我的圣山发出警讯，让国中所有的居民都战栗，因为耶和华的日子快到，必然临近了。

因为报仇的日子早已在我的心里，我救赎的年日早已经来到。

宣告耶和华悦纳人的禧年，和我们的神报仇的日子；安慰悲哀的人，

“人子啊！主耶和华这样说：你要对各类的飞鸟和田野的走兽说：‘你们集合起来，从四围聚集来吃我为你们所预备的祭肉。以色列众山上要献大祭，好叫你们吃肉喝血。你们要吃勇士的肉，喝那地众领袖的血，就如吃公绵羊、羊羔、公山羊和公牛，全部都是巴珊的肥畜。你们吃我为你们所预备的祭，必吃饱脂油，喝醉了血。你们必在我的筵席上吃饱马匹、骑兵、勇士和所有的战士。这是主耶和华的宣告。’“我必在列国中彰显我的荣耀，万邦必看见我施行的审判，和我加在他们身上的手。

因为这是报仇的日子，使经上的一切话都得应验。

因为我的刀在天上已经喝足了，看哪！它要落在以东，以及我决定要灭绝的民身上，为要施行审判。耶和华的刀染满了血，这刀因脂肪、羊羔和公山羊的血，以及公绵羊腰子的脂肪而滋润，因为耶和华在波斯拉有杀牲献祭的事，在以东地有大屠杀。野牛、牛犊与壮牛要与他们一同倒下，他们的地喝足了血，他们的尘土因脂肪而肥润。因为耶和华有报仇的日子，为锡安的案件，必有报应之年。

你仍要从巴比伦境内逃出来，各自逃命！不要因它的罪孽灭亡；因为这是耶和华报复的时候，他必向巴比伦施行应得的报应。

你们要在它的四周吶喊攻击它；它投降了，它城墙的支柱倒塌了，它的城墙拆毁了。因为这是耶和华的报复；你们要向巴比伦报复，它怎样待人，你们也要怎样待它。
