Thus shalt thou say unto him, The LORD saith thus; Behold,[ that] which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land.

惟我耶和華告爾、曰、昔予建造斯邦、加以栽植、後必殲滅、拔其根株、

But the Lord has told me to say to you,‘ This is what the Lord says: I will overthrow what I have built and uproot what I have planted, throughout the earth.

But here is what the Lord has told me to say to you, Baruch.‘ The Lord says,“ I will destroy what I have built up. I will pull up by the roots what I have planted. I will do this throughout the earth.

Thus shall you say to him, Thus says the Lord: Behold, what I have built I am breaking down, and what I have planted I am plucking up— that is, the whole land.

“ Baruch, this is what the Lord says:‘ I will destroy this nation that I built. I will uproot what I planted.

“ This is what you are to say to him:‘ This is what the LORD says:“ What I have built I am about to demolish, and what I have planted I am about to uproot— the whole land!

This is what you are to say to him:‘ This is what the Lord says:“ Behold, what I have built I am going to tear down, and what I have planted I am going to uproot, that is, all the people of the land.”

“ Thus you shall say to him,‘ Thus says the Lord:“ Behold, what I have built I will break down, and what I have planted I will pluck up, that is, this whole land.

“ This is what you are to say to him:‘ This is what the Lord says: What I have built I am about to demolish, and what I have planted I am about to uproot— the whole land!

The LORD told Jeremiah,“ Tell Baruch,‘ The LORD says,“ I am about to tear down what I have built and to uproot what I have planted. I will do this throughout the whole earth.

“ You shall tell him, Yahweh says:‘ Behold, that which I have built, I will break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up; and this in the whole land.

[ At what] instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy[ it];If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.And[ at what] instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant[ it];If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.

And it shall come to pass,[ that] like as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over them, to build, and to plant, saith the LORD.

See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.

Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.Thou preparedst[ room] before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land.The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof[ were like] the goodly cedars.She sent out her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river.Why hast thou[ then] broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her?The boar out of the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it.Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine;And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch[ that] thou madest strong for thyself.[ It is] burned with fire,[ it is] cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.

For the LORD of hosts, that planted thee, hath pronounced evil against thee, for the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have done against themselves to provoke me to anger in offering incense unto Baal.

And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

And he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard.What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up;[ and] break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down:And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned, nor digged; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts[ is] the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for judgment, but behold oppression; for righteousness, but behold a cry.
