Have you forgotten the wickedness committed by your ancestors and by the kings and queens of Judah and the wickedness committed by you and your wives in the land of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem?

Have you forgotten the evil things done by your people of long ago? The kings and queens of Judah did those same things. So did you and your wives. They were done in the land of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem.

Have you forgotten the evil of your fathers, the evil of the kings of Judah, the evil of their wives, your own evil, and the evil of your wives, which they committed in the land of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?

Have you forgotten the sins of your ancestors, the sins of the kings and queens of Judah, and the sins you and your wives committed in Judah and Jerusalem?

Have you forgotten the evils of your ancestors, the evils of Judah’s kings, the evils of their wives, your own evils, and the evils of your wives that were committed in the land of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?

Have you forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, the wickedness of the kings of Judah and the wickedness of their wives, your own wickedness and the wickedness of your wives, which they committed in the land of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?

Have you forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, the wickedness of the kings of Judah, the wickedness of their wives, your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives, which they committed in the land of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?

從前拜毗珥的罪惡不夠大嗎？那一次，瘟疫降到耶和華的會眾身上，直到今日我們還沒有洗淨這罪。你們今日要離棄耶和華嗎？今日你們背叛耶和華，明日祂必向以色列全體會眾發怒。如果你們認為自己的土地不潔淨，可以搬到耶和華的土地跟我們一起居住，這裡有耶和華的聖幕。只是不可在耶和華的祭壇以外，自己另築祭壇，以致背叛耶和華，連累我們。從前謝拉的曾孫亞干私自留下那些耶和華吩咐要毀滅的東西，以致耶和華的烈怒臨到以色列全體會眾，因他的罪而死的不只他一個人！」

從我們的祖先開始到現在，我們罪惡深重。由於我們的罪惡，我們、我們的君王和祭司都落在外邦君王的手中，被他們殺害、俘虜、搶掠和羞辱，如同今天的光景。但如今我們的上帝耶和華暫且施恩於我們，為我們存留一些餘民，使我們安然住在這聖潔之地。你使我們眼睛明亮，在我們受奴役時賜給我們一點生機。雖然我們是奴隸，我們的上帝卻沒有離棄受奴役的我們，祂在波斯眾王面前施恩於我們，使我們復興、得以重建毀壞的上帝的殿，讓我們在猶大和耶路撒冷有護牆。「如今，我們的上帝啊，事已至此，我們還能說什麼呢？因為我們背棄了你的誡命，就是你藉著你的僕人——眾先知給我們的吩咐，『你們將要佔領的那片土地被當地人的污穢玷污，他們的可憎行徑使那裡充滿污穢。所以不要讓你們的女兒嫁給他們的兒子，也不要讓你們的兒子娶他們的女兒。永不可為他們謀求平安和好處。這樣，你們就可強盛，吃那裡的美好出產，也可將那地方留給你們的子孫作為永久的產業。』「雖然因為我們的惡行和大罪，這一切事情臨到我們，但我們的上帝啊，你給我們的懲罰比我們該受的輕多了，你還施恩給我們留下這些餘民。我們豈能再違背你的誡命，與這些行為可憎的人通婚？若我們這樣行，你豈不發怒毀滅我們，使我們無一倖免嗎？以色列的上帝耶和華啊，你是公義的，所以我們這些餘民今天才得以倖存。看啊，我們在你面前身負罪惡，因而無人能在你面前站立得住。」

「你們和你們的祖先、君王、官長及其他所有百姓在猶大各城和耶路撒冷的街上燒香，耶和華豈不記得，豈能遺忘？

我們犯罪作惡，行為邪惡叛逆，偏離你的誡命和典章，沒有聽從你的僕人——眾先知奉你的名向我們的君王、首領、先祖及國中百姓所說的話。主啊，你是公義的，我們今日滿面羞愧，我們猶大人和耶路撒冷的居民，以及因對你不忠而被驅散到遠近各地的以色列人都滿面羞愧。主啊，我們和我們的君王、首領、先祖因得罪了你而滿臉羞愧。

許多人知道自己的妻子曾向別的神明燒香。他們和他們的妻子以及住在埃及巴特羅地區的人對耶利米說：「我們不會聽從你奉耶和華的名對我們說的話。但我們必照所許的願向天后燒香奠酒，正如我們和我們的祖先、君王和官長在猶大各城和耶路撒冷街上所做的一樣。那時，我們食物充足，生活幸福，無災無禍。但自從我們停止向天后燒香奠酒後，我們便一無所有，不斷有人死於戰爭和饑荒。」那些燒香的婦女說：「你以為我們的丈夫不知道我們向天后燒香奠酒、照著她的形像做祭餅嗎？」
