Now then, this is what the Lord God of armies, the God of Israel says:“ Why are you doing great harm to yourselves, to eliminate from yourselves man and woman, child and infant from among Judah, leaving yourselves without a remnant,

以色列的上帝——万军之上帝耶和华说，‘你们为什么自招大祸，使你们当中的男人、女人、孩童和婴儿都从犹大灭亡，无一幸免呢？

现在，耶和华万军的神以色列的神这样说：‘你们为什么自己招来这样的大灾祸，使你们的男人、女人、孩童和婴儿都从犹大中除灭，一个余剩的人也不留下呢？

現在耶和華－萬軍之神、以色列的神如此說：你們為何作這大惡自害己命，使你們的男人、婦女、嬰孩，和吃奶的都從猶大中剪除、不留一人呢？

以色列的上帝——萬軍之上帝耶和華說，『你們為什麼自招大禍，使你們當中的男人、女人、孩童和嬰兒都從猶大滅亡，無一倖免呢？

現在，耶和華萬軍的神以色列的神這樣說：‘你們為甚麼自己招來這樣的大災禍，使你們的男人、女人、孩童和嬰兒都從猶大中除滅，一個餘剩的人也不留下呢？

如今呢、永恆主萬軍之上帝、以色列之上帝這麼說：你們為甚麼行這大壞事、自害己命、而從猶大中將你們的男人、婦女、嬰孩、和喫奶的、都剪除掉、不留下一個餘剩之民呢？

萬軍之上帝耶和華、以色列之上帝曰、爾曹奚為行此大惡、自害厥命、俾男女孩提乳子、悉絕於猶大、靡有孑遺、

萬有之主以色列族之上帝耶和華曰、何為蹈此罪愆、使猶大男女、孩提、以及乳哺、為我所絶、靡有孑遺。

今主萬有之天主以色列之天主如是云、爾曹何為行此大惡、自罹其咎、使爾男女、孩提、嬰兒、悉絕於猶大族中、致無一人存留、

“ Now this is what the Lord God Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Why bring such great disaster on yourselves by cutting off from Judah the men and women, the children and infants, and so leave yourselves without a remnant?

The Lord God who rules over all is the God of Israel. He says,“ Why do you want to bring all this trouble on yourselves? You are removing from Judah its men and women, its children and babies. Not one of you will be left.

And now thus says the Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel: Why do you commit this great evil against yourselves, to cut off from you man and woman, infant and child, from the midst of Judah, leaving you no remnant?

“ And now the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, asks you: Why are you destroying yourselves? For not one of you will survive— not a man, woman, or child among you who has come here from Judah, not even the babies in your arms.

“ So now, this is what the LORD, the God of Armies, the God of Israel, says: Why are you doing such terrible harm to yourselves? You are cutting off man and woman, infant and nursing baby from Judah, leaving yourselves without a remnant.

“ Now therefore, thus says the Lord, the God of hosts, the God of Israel:‘ Why do you commit this great evil against yourselves, to cut off from you man and woman, child and infant, out of Judah, leaving none to remain,

Therefore now thus saith Jehovah, the God of hosts, the God of Israel: Wherefore commit ye this great evil against your own souls, to cut off from you man and woman, infant and suckling, out of the midst of Judah, to leave you none remaining;

“ So now, this is what the Lord, the God of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: Why are you doing such great harm to yourselves? You are cutting off man and woman, child and infant from Judah, leaving yourselves without a remnant.

Therefore now thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; Wherefore commit ye[ this] great evil against your souls, to cut off from you man and woman, child and suckling, out of Judah, to leave you none to remain;

“ So now the LORD, the God who rules over all, the God of Israel, asks,‘ Why will you do such great harm to yourselves? Why should every man, woman, child, and baby of yours be destroyed from the midst of Judah? Why should you leave yourselves without a remnant?

“ Therefore now Yahweh, the God of Armies, the God of Israel, says:‘ Why do you commit great evil against your own souls, to cut off from yourselves man and woman, infant and nursing child out of the middle of Judah, to leave yourselves no one remaining;

And with you I shatter man and woman, And with you I shatter the old man and youth, And with you I shatter the young man and virgin,

You have planned a shameful thing for your house By bringing many peoples to an end; So you are sinning against yourself.

As for the censers of these men who have sinned at the cost of their own lives, have them made into hammered sheets as plating for the altar, since they did present them before the Lord and they are holy; and they shall serve as a sign to the sons of Israel.”

For death has come up through our windows; It has entered our palaces To eliminate the children from the streets, The young men from the public squares.

My eyes fail because of tears, My spirit is greatly troubled; My heart is poured out on the earth Because of the destruction of the daughter of my people, When little ones and infants languish In the streets of the city.

Say to them,‘ As I live!’ declares the Lord God,‘ I take no pleasure at all in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn back, turn back from your evil ways! Why then should you die, house of Israel?’

His own wrongdoings will trap the wicked, And he will be held by the ropes of his sin.

Behold, I am watching over them for harm and not for good, and all the people of Judah who are in the land of Egypt will meet their end by the sword or by famine until they are completely gone.Those who escape the sword will return from the land of Egypt to the land of Judah few in number. Then all the remnant of Judah who have gone to the land of Egypt to reside there will know whose word will stand, Mine or theirs.

Now go and strike Amalek and completely destroy everything that he has, and do not spare him; but put to death both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.’ ”

Yet you have not listened to Me,” declares the Lord,“ in order to provoke Me to anger with the work of your hands to your own harm.

But they lie in wait for their own blood; They ambush their own lives.

And this is the thing that you shall do: you shall utterly destroy every male, and every woman who has slept with a male.”

provoking Me to anger with the works of your hands, burning sacrifices to other gods in the land of Egypt where you are entering to reside, so that you may be eliminated and become a curse and a disgrace among all the nations of the earth?

“ Therefore this is what the Lord of armies, the God of Israel says:‘ Behold, I am going to set My face against you for a disaster, even to eliminate all Judah.And I will take away the remnant of Judah who have set their minds on entering the land of Egypt to reside there, and they will all meet their end in the land of Egypt; they will fall by the sword or meet their end by famine. From the small to the great, they will die by the sword and famine; and they will become a curse, an object of horror, an imprecation, and a disgrace.

Outside the sword will make them childless, And inside, terror— Both young man and virgin, The nursing child with the man of gray hair.

One who neglects discipline rejects himself, But one who listens to a rebuke acquires understanding.

But one who sins against me injures himself; All those who hate me love death.”

He also struck Nob the city of the priests with the edge of the sword, both men and women, children and infants; he also struck oxen, donkeys, and sheep with the edge of the sword.

For you have only deceived yourselves; for it is you who sent me to the Lord your God, saying,“ Pray for us to the Lord our God; and whatever the Lord our God says, tell us so, and we will do it.”

They utterly destroyed everything in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, sheep, and donkey, with the edge of the sword.

So there will be no survivor or refugee for the remnant of Judah who have entered the land of Egypt to reside there and then to return to the land of Judah, to which they are longing to return to live; for none will return except a few refugees.’ ”

Are they provoking Me?” declares the Lord.“ Is it not themselves instead, to their own shame?”

Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah actually put him to death? Did he not fear the Lord and plead for the favor of the Lord, and the Lord relented of the disaster which He had pronounced against them? But we are committing a great evil against our own lives!”
