“ So now, this is what the LORD, the God of Armies, the God of Israel, says: Why are you doing such terrible harm to yourselves? You are cutting off man and woman, infant and nursing baby from Judah, leaving yourselves without a remnant.

现在耶和华—万军之神、以色列的神如此说：你们为何做这大恶自害己命，使你们的男人、妇女、孩童和吃奶的都从犹大剪除，不留一人呢？

以色列的上帝——万军之上帝耶和华说，‘你们为什么自招大祸，使你们当中的男人、女人、孩童和婴儿都从犹大灭亡，无一幸免呢？

现在，耶和华万军的神以色列的神这样说：‘你们为什么自己招来这样的大灾祸，使你们的男人、女人、孩童和婴儿都从犹大中除灭，一个余剩的人也不留下呢？

現在耶和華－萬軍之神、以色列的神如此說：你們為何作這大惡自害己命，使你們的男人、婦女、嬰孩，和吃奶的都從猶大中剪除、不留一人呢？

現在耶和華－萬軍之上帝、以色列的上帝如此說：你們為何做這大惡自害己命，使你們的男人、婦女、孩童和吃奶的都從猶大剪除，不留一人呢？

以色列的上帝——萬軍之上帝耶和華說，『你們為什麼自招大禍，使你們當中的男人、女人、孩童和嬰兒都從猶大滅亡，無一倖免呢？

現在，耶和華萬軍的神以色列的神這樣說：‘你們為甚麼自己招來這樣的大災禍，使你們的男人、女人、孩童和嬰兒都從猶大中除滅，一個餘剩的人也不留下呢？

如今呢、永恆主萬軍之上帝、以色列之上帝這麼說：你們為甚麼行這大壞事、自害己命、而從猶大中將你們的男人、婦女、嬰孩、和喫奶的、都剪除掉、不留下一個餘剩之民呢？

萬軍之上帝耶和華、以色列之上帝曰、爾曹奚為行此大惡、自害厥命、俾男女孩提乳子、悉絕於猶大、靡有孑遺、

萬有之主以色列族之上帝耶和華曰、何為蹈此罪愆、使猶大男女、孩提、以及乳哺、為我所絶、靡有孑遺。

今主萬有之天主以色列之天主如是云、爾曹何為行此大惡、自罹其咎、使爾男女、孩提、嬰兒、悉絕於猶大族中、致無一人存留、

“ Now this is what the Lord God Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Why bring such great disaster on yourselves by cutting off from Judah the men and women, the children and infants, and so leave yourselves without a remnant?

The Lord God who rules over all is the God of Israel. He says,“ Why do you want to bring all this trouble on yourselves? You are removing from Judah its men and women, its children and babies. Not one of you will be left.

And now thus says the Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel: Why do you commit this great evil against yourselves, to cut off from you man and woman, infant and child, from the midst of Judah, leaving you no remnant?

“ And now the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, asks you: Why are you destroying yourselves? For not one of you will survive— not a man, woman, or child among you who has come here from Judah, not even the babies in your arms.

Now then, this is what the Lord God of armies, the God of Israel says:“ Why are you doing great harm to yourselves, to eliminate from yourselves man and woman, child and infant from among Judah, leaving yourselves without a remnant,

“ Now therefore, thus says the Lord, the God of hosts, the God of Israel:‘ Why do you commit this great evil against yourselves, to cut off from you man and woman, child and infant, out of Judah, leaving none to remain,

Therefore now thus saith Jehovah, the God of hosts, the God of Israel: Wherefore commit ye this great evil against your own souls, to cut off from you man and woman, infant and suckling, out of the midst of Judah, to leave you none remaining;

“ So now, this is what the Lord, the God of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: Why are you doing such great harm to yourselves? You are cutting off man and woman, child and infant from Judah, leaving yourselves without a remnant.

Therefore now thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; Wherefore commit ye[ this] great evil against your souls, to cut off from you man and woman, child and suckling, out of Judah, to leave you none to remain;

“ So now the LORD, the God who rules over all, the God of Israel, asks,‘ Why will you do such great harm to yourselves? Why should every man, woman, child, and baby of yours be destroyed from the midst of Judah? Why should you leave yourselves without a remnant?

“ Therefore now Yahweh, the God of Armies, the God of Israel, says:‘ Why do you commit great evil against your own souls, to cut off from yourselves man and woman, infant and nursing child out of the middle of Judah, to leave yourselves no one remaining;

With you I will smash man and woman; with you I will smash the old man and the youth; with you I will smash the young man and the young woman.

You have planned shame for your house by wiping out many peoples and sinning against your own self.

As for the firepans of those who sinned at the cost of their own lives, make them into hammered sheets as plating for the altar, for they presented them before the LORD, and the firepans are holy. They will be a sign to the Israelites.”

for Death has climbed through our windows; it has entered our fortresses, cutting off children from the streets, young men from the squares.

My eyes are worn out from weeping; I am churning within. My heart is poured out in grief because of the destruction of my dear people, because infants and nursing babies faint in the streets of the city.

Tell them,‘ As I live— this is the declaration of the Lord GOD— I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked person should turn from his way and live. Repent, repent of your evil ways! Why will you die, house of Israel?’

A wicked man’s iniquities will trap him; he will become tangled in the ropes of his own sin.

I am watching over them for disaster and not for good, and everyone from Judah who is in the land of Egypt will meet his end by sword or famine until they are finished off.Those who escape the sword will return from the land of Egypt to the land of Judah only few in number, and the whole remnant of Judah, the ones going to the land of Egypt to stay there for a while, will know whose word stands, mine or theirs!

Now go and attack the Amalekites and completely destroy everything they have. Do not spare them. Kill men and women, infants and nursing babies, oxen and sheep, camels and donkeys.’”

“‘ But you have not obeyed me’— this is the LORD’s declaration—‘ with the result that you have angered me by the work of your hands and brought disaster on yourselves.’

but they set an ambush to kill themselves; they attack their own lives.

This is what you should do: Completely destroy every male, as well as every woman who has gone to bed with a man.”

You are angering me by the work of your hands. You are burning incense to other gods in the land of Egypt where you have gone to stay for a while. As a result, you will be cut off and become an example for cursing and insult among all the nations of earth.

“ Therefore, this is what the LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says: I am about to set my face against you to bring disaster, to cut off all Judah.And I will take away the remnant of Judah, those who have set their face to go to the land of Egypt to stay there. All of them will meet their end in the land of Egypt. They will fall by the sword; they will meet their end by famine. From the least to the greatest, they will die by the sword and by famine. Then they will become an example for cursing, scorn, execration, and disgrace.

Outside, the sword will take their children, and inside, there will be terror; the young man and the young woman will be killed, the infant and the gray-haired man.

Anyone who ignores discipline despises himself, but whoever listens to correction acquires good sense.

but the one who misses me harms himself; all who hate me love death.”

He also struck down Nob, the city of the priests, with the sword— both men and women, infants and nursing babies, oxen, donkeys, and sheep.

You have gone astray at the cost of your lives because you are the ones who sent me to the LORD your God, saying,‘ Pray to the LORD our God on our behalf, and as for all that the LORD our God says, tell it to us, and we’ll act accordingly.’

They completely destroyed everything in the city with the sword— every man and woman, both young and old, and every ox, sheep, and donkey.

Then the remnant of Judah— those going to live for a while there in the land of Egypt— will have no fugitive or survivor to return to the land of Judah where they are longing to return to stay, for they will not return except for a few fugitives.”

But are they really provoking me?” This is the LORD’s declaration.“ Isn’t it they themselves being provoked to disgrace?”

Did King Hezekiah of Judah and all the people of Judah put him to death? Did not the king fear the LORD and plead for the LORD’s favor, and did not the LORD relent concerning the disaster he had pronounced against them? We are about to bring a terrible disaster on ourselves!”
